    Avoid...

An interesting story told in the most bungling, ham-fisted way possible. A true story told so badly it appears made up. The "acting" is awful, direction non-existent. How do you put an illegal unmarked grave in an official graveyard?? One of many questions that come up. Some cheesy movies are enjoyable IN their very cheese, this is simply gone off...

Better Than Average Drama - Taken Back

This is every parent's worst nightmare. Having your child taken, short of having your child killed or dying, is the worst thing any parent could have to live through. Divorce is bad enough, but this is even worse; much worse. Although a bit slow in the beginning, it picks up in the middle and carries your attention until the ending, which reminded me of "Fatal Attraction" where the psycho is so real that you will get chills. Recommended.

    Predictable & not worth watching.

I watched this because of the actors in it, particularly Amanda Tapping. I expected a twist, something other than being completely predictable in a boring way. But there wasn't any twist. All the adult characters came off as irresponsible and not believable. It wasn't even a good treatment on the subject of child abduction compared to movies like "The Face on the Milk Carton." It also didn't give background on any of the major characters on what had happened to them in the last decade. It just plopped the characters on screen with no explanation as to why they were friends, why they had the jobs they did, etc. Not any real character development at all. And at the end of it, I liked the characters that the movie portrayed as bad, and couldn't stand the ones they portrayed as good. Moira Kelly I didn't think was believable in her role at all. All in all it was a waste of two hours of my time.

    • Trivia
The opening theme of the film is an almost note-for-note copy of John Morris's theme for The Elephant Man (1980).
    • Goofs
In the playground seen early in the film, Karen is by a bulletin board with an ad posted with a 604 (British Columbia, Canada) area code. In the 15th minute Karen arrives home driving a car with a contemporary California licence plate. For the record, this is a USA/Canada co-production.
