Modern Laurel and Hardy/Abbott and Costello

Pretty funny comedy with a ridiculously unbelievable premise. The relationship between the 2 main characters is reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy or Abbott and Costello. Most of the humour comes from the relationship between these two. There's no heavy thinking required and no waiting around for a complicated plot to develop, it just dives right in to the comedy. Various customers throughout the night keep the humour going and the simple but silly plot lively. There are even a few "heartwarming scenes" as they are often referred to but still done in a comedic way. Even a surprise twist that you don't see coming. Very entertaining and just the right length.

    Surprisingly funny

I wasn't expecting much from this to be honest. It's a unknown low budget British film. I reckon it's because I'm British and I just understand the humour.

The chemistry of Ray and Adeel was perfect, was just the perfect comedy duo. It's definitely not one of the most complex film I've seen in fact it's the complete opposite of that but it does the job, an easy film you don't have to concentrate on.

British comedies are just be best, the comedy is just so much more relatable. The bickering of Ajay and Shaan was just funny and relatable for anyone with a best friend or a brother. There's always one dumb friend like Shaan.

    A pretty funny movie

I have to say this is one of the more funny movies i have seen in recent memory. This movie is all about two men. Ajay and shaan, one of them gets in trouble at a stripclub and owes a lot of money to the russians. As a result of this they end up serving in a conveniance store untill the automatic timer opens. The men are ray panthaki and adeel akhtar. Both are good in this movie and are funny as indivdius two. We also have vickymcclure in an earlier role playing levi, someoone who works there. There are some hilarious bits and its a pretty well made contained comedy that also features verne troyer and anthony head

    Verne troyer- anthony head.

    Dire

I've always been cynical about the idea of untruthful reviews on here and, anyway, these things Usually even themselves out so you can judge the films fairly based on the rating. But where this one's concerned, it's obvious that there have been some very, err, creative positive reviews.

I had high hopes thanks to the quality cast, and they do the best they can with the very poor material. The premise is ok although very contrived, but the execution is awful and it simply isn't funny. Worse still, it's boring; I felt like one of the hostages being forced to sit through to the bitter end. Tenuous plot developments are forced in, unlikeable characters are given underserved redemptions, and, biggest crime of all, Anthony Stewart Head is reduced to an illogical cameo. The outtakes at the end are funnier than the film and they're not really funny either.

Seriously, don't bother, not even for a wet Sunday afternoon with nothing else to do. It's just depressing and a complete waste of equality British talent.

    Not my type of comedy...

The 2013 comedy "Convenience" was a movie that I had never heard about, prior to sitting down to watch it here in 2024. And with it being a movie I wasn't familiar with, then I didn't know what I was in for, nor did I have any expectations to the movie.

Writers Nick Dunn and Simon Fantauzzo put together a unique storyline. I found it somewhat devoid of comedy elements and I wasn't brought to a single laugh throughout the course of the movie. But with that being said, I am not saying that "Convenience" was a bad movie, it just wasn't a traditional comedy movie, that's all. And I am sure that there is an audience out there for an offbeat comedy such as this proved to be.

Sure, I was fairly entertained by "Convenience", but it wasn't an outstanding or memorable movie in my opinion. It was, perhaps, because the movie's comedy didn't fall into the scope of my sense of comedy. The lack of comedy and the slow narrative sort of didn't tickle me in the right places.

The acting performances in "Convenience" are good. And it was quite a surprise to see the likes of Anthony Head, Verne Troyer and Tony Way showing up in the movie.

"Convenience" is not a movie that will grace my screen a second time.

My rating of director Keri Collins's 2013 movie "Convenience" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
