My thoughts on "paradise 5."

Fantastical concepts presented immaculately: as one would expect of the great Peter Hammond! The first episode fits flawlessly into into the rest of the story despite not being touched by the man. The adaptationist also did a flawless job at telling the story through audio. The location is quite exotic, the plotting is very pacey and gripping, with lots of great turns and everything building upon one another. All around a well conceptualized evenly developed story that seems to benefit from being removed from the "trials of a time-lord" story it originally had to tie in to. The only disappointing element is how well it would have catered to the visual medium however those visual details are advantageous even in this medium.

This story was adapted by Andy Lane from a script by PJ Hammond that was originally intended to be parts nine to twelve of The Trial of a Time Lord (1986) but it was cancelled. When it was adapted for audio, Mel was written out and was replaced with Peri.
