Roland Riebeling was originally cast to play the film's main antagonist, but had to opt out due to scheduling conflicts. He was replaced by Timur Isik. After the script had been rewritten, director Matthias Zucker and producer Alexander Ritter offered Riebeling the newly-created part of "Interviewer Richter" in order to retain him in the film in some capacity.
