First few episodes were funny, a bit cringe but still got a chuckle out of it. Liked the cast and genuinely seemed like they were vibing. Then things took a weird turn by episode 4... why did we have to see a man sucking a bullet out of another man's gouch? We quickly hit shock value, and the plot just goes down hill from there.
Really hoped things would improve in the final two episodes, but alas it did not. All the promising ideas and plot points from the first episode quickly get thrown out the window for dick jokes. The actors all seemed to be giving their all, but the plot just fell apart my so quickly, like a snake eating it's own tail.
This show went from bad to worse so quickly... not sure what they told Sean Penn this show was to convince him to be part of this but I could bet money this wasn't it. Also Ragnar from Vikings appears for a hot minute, but does nothing to improve this hot mess.

This series is so bad, one wonders if its purpose transcends conventional expectations. Could it be a deliberate endeavour to craft the epitome of rubbish television in the streaming era? Potentially this stellar cast, in this fanciful scenario, willingly embraces the challenge under the persuasive guidance of a showrunner who pitches the joyous creation of intentional terrible TV. An inside industry joke, perhaps, where the allure lies in deviating from the pursuit of excellence and relishing the unique thrill of producing a fantastically terrible piece of television. In this whimsical pursuit, the cast, with their remarkable talents, breathes life into intentionally absurd narratives, blurring the lines between satire and sincerity. If this were indeed a clandestine effort to redefine the boundaries of televised storytelling, then kudos to all involved for navigating this uncharted territory with audacious rubbish.
If you are expecting anything serious lower your expectations and chill out a little, it's not Schindler's list.
On the silly side and with fun cultural jokes.
The later episodes have some good meta humour which made me laugh out loud.
Maybe sided towards the Australian sense of humour.
Some say it's dated humour but hey if you just enjoy it for what It is you will have fun.
They did well with the hyperbole differences between Americans and Australians, poking fun at both.
There seems to be a little bit of a message of the over celebrated hero distracting from the greater cause, maybe lost in the silliness but still noticeable.
Overall I enjoyed the experience and worth a watch if you ain't the comedy police.

Stan has been plugging this pretty hard boasting that it's biggest cast for a Stan Original. Although this maybe factual, it doesn't really distract for the mediocrity of this comedy & that most appearances are more cameo roles.
Watched the entirety of the six episodes to offer up a honest review rather than seemingly being a 'hater.' Unfortunately, this didn't offer up any better insight into any probability that it would improve. The none-to-subtle association with Channel Nine with Karl Stefanovic & A Current Affair appearances made it all seem a bit more cringe, on top of the already crass nature of this production.
Only wish Australian comedies were a little more thought provoking & a little less obnoxious & obvious with their stylings. Honestly, if they only reigned Kick Gurry a little more & reduced this down to a film rather than a six-part series, it may have been more endearing.
4/10 for the effort & not the execution.

Between Karl having his fat head in the shots and poor Sean Penn (how did they manage to sell this 💩 to him to be in appearance) comedy show that wasn't even funny in the first 10 minutes let alone entirety of the program- with poor acting and writing why on earth is Australia and Stan promoting this garbage.
Low IQ humour that's outdated and only a bogan would still find funny, with cringe acting with a poor script and forced humour is the go to now it seems for streaming services and their promoted shows, this is an embarrassment and not funny at all but again it's rare to find decent content in streaming services nowadays.

- TriviaAll of the writing on Behati Prinsloo is English upside down - the sign behind them in the hostage video reads "With the flower goes the bee!" And most other signs are simply the object they are on, e.g. "Toilet" and "Well".
