I watched it on prime and felt the Joshua character was under developed. Female lead seemed to have gotten more attention as far as details and character development, kinda felt the movie was about her. Her perfornance was outstanding. However, as far as the soundtrack, it goes without saying that Oliver Piggott is a genius lyricist. I rewinded a few times just to watch him play. His music moves you, and his passion for his music oozes. It would be amazing if a movie was made about the life of Oliver Piggott, now THAT would be a story like no other, crazy unexpected twist and turns and far from the usual painfull climb to stardom. A story not only worth telling, but should be told. Here's to hoping.
This film was so honest and exposed the sacrifices and choices you needed to make it in Hollywood. Was so surprised how good Oliver Pigott was in his first acting job and to also be the main character too wow
Great soundtrack and this movie was shot tight but just close enough to capture such emotions which helped the movie to flow so effortlessly. Well done
This isn't a bad film, and at the risk of damning with faint praise, most aspects are consistently adequate. At times it feels like a narrative loosely wound around a music video, with a lead actor with very limited acting skills but not a bad voice.
The themes tread well worn paths, and unless you're a real fan of the soundtrack it really doesn't have much to offer.
Viewers would do well to consider 'All About Eve' for a study on the price of fame, or John Carney's 'Begin Again' for a film with similar themes but much stronger talent. The former is a 9/10 out of 10 film, the latter a strong 7/8. This is a 5.

This is a fascinating film that gives us a look into the different types of people working (or hoping to work) in Hollywood, and the sacrifices people are willing to make to 'get ahead.' This is a brilliantly acted film and the added bonus is that it has a fantastic soundtrack! This is a movie that anyone hoping to get into the entertainment industry can relate to, often asking ourselves 'what would I do to succeed?', 'is love as important as success?' Stan Harrington made a master film, with important and relevant issues to everyone- not just performers. I can't wait to see what Stan and his team make next. He's definitely found a life long fan in me!!
Lost Angels is about a theme that all of us experience at some point in our lives. In fact this theme is so prevalent that we have a common phrase to express it - "selling your soul to the devil". In Lost Angels the story follows a young couple in love, and the choices they make to reach their goals. The question becomes, were the choices made worth the sacrifices that must be endured? The cast was superb, and Oliver was phenomenal especially considering it was his first transition from musical artist to actor. He gets the chance to showcase his musical talent with a fantastic score. The film is fun to watch, although very moving at times and may leave you quite emotional by the end. Overall an excellent film about a very deep and thought provoking theme.
