    Unknown facts about the movie

It is a 105-minute psychological thriller, with the first 55 minutes filmed entirely in a single uninterrupted take - a rarity in Turkish cinema. The script readings and rehearsals for the film lasted six months in total. For the ambitious single-take scene, which required carrying and operating a Steadicam rig weighing approximately 40 kilograms, the production team consulted nearly every Steadicam operator in Turkey. However, upon hearing about the 55-minute continuous take, most operators deemed it impossible and declined the offer.

Director Yusuf Özgü initially considered bringing in a specialized camera crew from Russia to handle the sequence, but due to COVID-related flight restrictions at the time, travel from Russia to Turkey was not possible, and the plan had to be canceled. Eventually, a Turkish Steadicam operator willing to take on the challenge was found.

In the history of Turkish cinema, single-take scenes in feature films typically span only 3 to 5 minutes. In contrast, this film's single-take sequence required days of reshoots, as every mistake meant starting the scene from the very beginning. The filming of this sequence alone took an entire week.

What sets this film apart is not only its single location but also the fact that nearly half of it was captured in a single take - a groundbreaking achievement. The story unfolds over the course of one night, from 8 PM to 6 AM, and the shooting schedule mirrored this timeline to authentically capture the emotional transitions of the characters.

Due to the intense psychological demands of the single-take scene, some crew members experienced health issues during filming, and a few actors even fainted. Despite these challenges, the shoot was successfully completed, and the film was brought to life.

The Voice is a haunting and atmospheric film that dares to be different. Its single take approach isn't just a gimmick it serves the story, immersing the viewer in a tense, unbroken stream of emotion and mystery. The camera moves fluidly through confined spaces and dark corners, making the audience feel as though they are trapped inside the story along with the characters.

The script is layered and thought-provoking, unraveling secrets slowly and deliberately. It explores guilt, silence, and the human need for connection in a way that lingers after the credits roll. The first half of the film is especially gripping, setting a tone that is unsettling yet magnetic.

While the story and direction are bold and impressive, the acting occasionally struggles to keep pace with the film's ambition. Some performances feel underdeveloped or emotionally distant. Still, the lead actor brings enough gravity to the role to hold the narrative together and keep the viewer invested.

Overall, The Voice is a powerful cinematic experiment not perfect, but deeply memorable. It's the kind of film that doesn't just tell a story, it invites you to feel trapped inside it.

    nice twists

It's a great script with impressive twists that keep the viewer constantly guessing, but unfortunately, I can't say the same for the acting. The performances felt inconsistent at times, and some emotional beats didn't land as powerfully as they should have. That said, the first 15 minutes are absolutely gripping - they pull you in with intensity and mystery, and immediately immerse you in the atmosphere of the film.

What truly elevated the experience for me was discovering that the entire movie was filmed in a single continuous take. That level of technical execution demands precision, discipline, and a strong sense of rhythm - and it deserves major recognition. Knowing that the cast and crew rehearsed for three full months to perfect the timing and transitions only deepens my appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the camera.

While the acting might not always rise to the level of the story, the ambition of the direction and the boldness of the one-shot technique make this film a noteworthy cinematic experiment worth watching.
