If they edited Chip out I might have enjoyed this show more. He was childish, not funny and his passive aggressive comments about Joanna were unseemly. I also didn't see Chip contribute much to the remodel. Granted, he's always been goofy but now he is just annoying. She is a good sport despite his immaturity but I no longer see any chemistry and at times it seemed she was just tolerating him. I do think Joanna is very talented - obviously the brains in this endeavor - and I enjoyed seeing how the castle was redecorated. There are some obvious plugs for their businesses (paint, stocking the stores) but they weren't overdone. I enjoyed it for the decorating/makeover but next time leave Chip at home.
The chatter is too much for me. Chip thinks he's funny - and he is not. Also, why was I treated to watching their child get a driving lesson? And cooking. No. Not what I wanted to see. Not what i wanted to spend my time on.
I watched most of the first episode and then had to skip to the last one. Just couldn't take the constant banter and side trips.
Enjoyed the history of the castle. Could have done without nondescript pink, or pink of any kind for a girl's bedroom. How totally stereotypical. When you compare it with the incredible shade of green in the boy's room, it's a total fail.
Also, on houses that old, the floors were carpeted, so they weren't finished in any color - dark or light. No point in doing it just to cover them up.
The old girl was a late bloomer! And to their credit - they did a BEAUTIFUL loving job of restoring this incredible dwelling that was built with love - and brought her into the 21st Century. She's now ready to be a lovely warm home to families for a hundred more years.

I've wanted to see these two love birds again for so long I missed there old show. By far better then any other hgtv show 100% would recommend ten out of ten. Chip and Joannas chemistry as they try and redo this out standing beautiful caste is impeccable by far the best tv show of all time. I can not wait to see what they do next I'm so excited. I love seeing chips reaction to demo day every time he's like a crazy little child but I'm a really really good way. I love how even though chip and Joanna are married Joanna has to keep reminding chip not to break anything. By far the best show I've seen in a long long time would recommend.
I have to say that I was a bit underwhelmed by the finished Castle project. Trying to figure out why, the word that comes to mind is "disjointed". As a whole, the rooms just didn't "flow". I'd say that I didn't care for about half of the styling choices that were made.
The kitchen is gorgeous but it just doesn't feel as though it fits in and while I get the concept of a "butlers pantry", it's more like two separate side-by-side kitchens, each with an entirely different feel to them.
The master bedroom is completely underwhelming and the master bathroom unimaginative. The drawing room is a huge disappointment. Unattractive furnishings, lighting and paint color. And the card room? I wouldn't want to spend any time in it at all. So very dark and depressing. And that carpet. Ugh. The "boys" bedroom is another miss color and style wise, and why was the drawing of the architect hung in that room? Totally out of place.
I love about 95% of their home renovation projects but the end result of The Castle project was somewhat disappointing. If I were to buy it, I'd have to have some of the rooms re-done. I'm not sure what went wrong. Maybe Joanna was trying too hard to get it right and ignored her usually spot-on instincts?

I knew this show; "Fixer Upper: The Castle" was going to be good, but now that I finished watching it..... I have to say it was amazing! The transformation was incredible to see unfold. Chip and Joanna are geniuses when it comes to their craft. I've been watching their shows for many many years and you can see how much they have grown, not only with their talent, but with their love for family. I was hooked when I first heard Joanna say to the homeowners, "Welcome Home". I truly felt the warmth and comfort of these two words. I can't wait for their next project.......the sky's the limit for these two.
