    Storm in a teacup

Another random wrestling event watched before I eBay the bluray. By 2012, I had drifted away from watching the WWE, as I didn't have access to Sky Sports anymore, I kept up online a little, but chances are this is the first time I've ever seen this event. Generally, I thought it was a solid show, but lacking in anything truly spectacular to take it over the top.

From the Staples Centre, in Los Angeles, the card saw Chris Jericho against Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan against Kane, Rey Mysterio against The Miz, Alberto Del Rio against Sheamus, The Prime Time Players against Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, A Triple threat match of John Cena, vs The Big Show, vs CM Punk and a no disqualification match between Brock Lesnar and HHH.

Again, solid but unspectacular, is how I would describe the show. The early matches in particular were OK, as there was a lot of talent them. It's much more noticeable in the second half of the show how muted the crowd are - particularly in that No disqualification match. I wonder if part of the problem is that there's isn't really a traditional 'heel' in most of these matches. Alberto Del Rio is perhaps the most hated (and that was before we'd heard anything about his private life) and even in that match Sheamus cheats as much as Del Rio does, if not more.

The big let down is the triple threat match. I get that adding the Big Show keeps us away from doing Punk vs Cena straight and protects that for a later date, but it makes the story of the match dull. The terrible band spot, a couple of long video packages and the constant sight of Piers Morgan's grimacing visage don't help the show either.

The undercard is full of talented guys and decent matches and moments but when the show should step up a gear, it stumbles.
