Honest Candidate 2

Now, I haven't watched the 2020 South Korean comedy "Honest Candidate", so I don't know how much of a continuation this 2022 sequel "Honest Candidate 2" was. But regardless, given my love of the Asian cinema, then I still opted to sit down and watch the sequel, as I had the opportunity to do so.

Writers Sung-Hye Heo and You-Jeong Jang put together a rather enjoyable and entertaining script for this 2022 comedy. I was genuinely entertained by the script throughout the course of the 107 minutes that the movie ran for. It was a script that managed to balance politics and comedy very nicely, and it made for good entertainment.

Not only was the script good, but the cast ensemble was good too. They definitely had cast a great ensemble of actors and actresses for the roles. Leading actress Ra Mi-Ran (playing Joo Sang-Sook) really carried the movie quite well with her performance.

If you enjoy Asian comedies, then "Honest Candidate 2" is a good movie. And is certainly has made me want to track down the 2020 first movie and give that a watch as well. I was genuinely entertained by director You-Jeong Jang's 2022 movie "Honest Candidate 2".

My rating of "Honest Candidate 2" lands on a six out of ten stars.
