Wilder Than Her

I gave this movie a chance last night on Amazon Prime Video, purely based on the fact that it had a 4.5 star rating, but from only 4 votes, which should have been a red flag. I suppose they are the same people (probably from the production team) who left glowing reviews here.

Don't be fooled, it's one of the worst movies I've seen this year. It's listed as "Horror/Suspense" but it's really lacking in both.

Despite a short running time (under 90 minutes) it seems to go on forever with nothing particularly exciting happening until the last 15 minutes, which are still boring as hell. The script and acting are amateurish and instantly forgettable.

In short: try something else.

I was luckily enough to see this in a movie theater. Really loved how specific this movie is. Not only is there such a well built tension throughout but the dynamic between the central cast is so well done and also so specific. The love hate nature of the friendship between the main characters is portrayed with clinical precision.

The dialogue has so many lines that surprised me by how much they made me laugh while also being on the edge of my seat.

The movie didn't end how I expected it to but in the most satisfying way.

Throughly recommend this movie for fans of the genre and those who want to laugh.

This was a very well acted and directed film that kept my interest through the entire 90 minutes - which most films haven't managed to do lately. I'm really glad I stumbled across this little gem on Kanopy.

The characters were well developed and believable. The story was steady. And the direction was very strong.

Obviously I don't want to give much away because it's best not knowing anything about it, but if I had one non-spoiler warning it would be not consider this film a horror. I love horror films, but still managed to enjoy this even though I'd consider it more of a thriller or drama. Still very entertaining because of the quality actors and professional crew. I'm glad films like this are able to get out there. I'm very curious about the numbers. Judging from the few reviews, far too few people are seeing this hidden gem.

The Wild is a clever, suspenseful thriller with a really engaging storyline. The writing is sharp, and the plot twists kept me guessing the whole way through. The actors are fantastic, bringing unique, complex characters to life. Emilia's choices and the character dynamics are so intriguing. Some really hilarious laugh out loud moments too. If you enjoy thoughtful, true crime-style mysteries with smart storytelling, this is definitely worth a watch!

Don't even get me started on how bad this movie is. The people who voted this high clearly are working with the movie company. It's absolutely a pile of garbage. Bad special effects, bad acting, bad storyline, bad plot, etc. 1 star our out 10 for the scenery. The characters were completely unrealistic and the plot extremely flawed. This was marketed as a horror flick but it's was more of a twisted friend drama. There were hardly any horror elements involved in this movie and it dragged on way too long and wore out its welcome. This feels like some amateur university style production. Avoid at all costs.
