Assalamu Alikum and hello to all.I am Pakistani and fond of turkish dramas this drama was telecasted in 2013 but i watched it now in 2020.It was amazing experience very mysterious the acting is also very great by actors.Locations are also very good Mehrnoush esmailpour is also very good, berrak, nehir ,engin, yigit, erkan and all specially ugur polat is amazing acting. In the end some part is never understanding when they show the grave of kudret and did not show how he died and also i donot like the death of leyla and her son Mehdi.Afterall it was good drama as in end they showed Aylin had a great heart as she forgave selim and went to Iran to find Mehdi and accept and keep firhad as her son
This would be the worst TV-series ever to come out of Turkey. Nothing wrong with the actors but the story. What story?
This story could have been told in a half-an-hour episode but we have to wait for thr 49th until it is revealed what we all could work out from the start.
It goes back and fro, back and fro and there are so many mistakes in the series, it is quite unbelievable. The actor is driving a white car, which turns into grey and finally a red one when it stops. One actors face is full with soots, oil and the next moment he is perfectly clean. Forget about this one!!

Agree with the other reviews. The flashbacks within flashbacks within flashbacks were tricky, especially at the beginning, and with many time differences. More manageable as the series progresses and you 'understand' what's going on. Still, a rather gripping series. The plot lines multiply but they all seem to be connected someway through the characters. And we love the views of everyday Turkish life, homes, decorations, dress; they offer an interesting insight. As one reviewer noted, not scenes of Turkey we normally see in the U.S. There are also scenes in Iran, I believe, and there, too, the background scenery is interesting: the extremely narrow pathways (you can hardly call them streets) in neighborhoods; the barren exteriors and the lush interiors. An interesting lesson in geography.
Like any soup opera, a good story made too long and terrible level of actors performance.
I have no previous experience watching Turkish movies, but I believe should have much better professionals in cinema than showed in this série.
I´m going to be completely honest here. I didn´t watch every episode of "Son" (Swedish title: "Lögnen"/"The Lie"). Why? I had very little time and, sorry to say it, interest in the end. I watched at least 32 episodes. In other words I must say that I saw enough to have questions, opinions and confusion.
First of all it´s way too many flashbacks for me! I couldn´t really keep up. Very often I felt confusion. What year or place is it now in this TV series? Some flashbacks were unnecessary. Few things were explained. Where is the romantic chemistry between this TV series couples? What drives Cevdet? Is it his family, money, revenge, justice or something else? Why didn´t Selim tell the truth to Aylin? He should have told her everything!
I know that my home country Sweden is one of Norways neighbours. And yes, I like Norway very much. But why did this TV series include just a few Norwegian scenes? Norway deserved to be seen more.
All in all I, quite sadly, don´t take with me a lot of things after watching "Son". I´m sorry, but for me it´s true.

- Alternate versionsIn many countries, the series is distributed in a reedited version of fifty 30 minute episodes or thirty-one 45 minute episodes rather than the original twenty-five 82 minute episodes, thus missing some scenes.
