While I'm adittedly not a massive RHCP fan, I do like some of their output. The problem here isn't an issue of liking or disliking their work. It's that this episode was misguided from the very start. It offered us nothing that a team of animators working for a music video programming network couldn't have conceptualized in a half-hour discussion with the Chili's legal team over a serving of late in some boardroom. It's basically advertising on an MTV scale. It was pointless in the context of "Love, Death & Robots" since, unless Flea dropped dead of a heroin overdose just as it faded to black, it had none of those thing.
For what it was, it was fine, and I'm sure hardcore RHCP fans will enjoy it. It just made no sense as a LDR episode.

If I wanted to see a music video I would've watched something on YouTube, this is a waste of a spot that could've gone to a wonderful studio instead we got this
.. it's long for no apparent reason and the animation although some sections were cool was rather a bore and basic, no individuality instead opting for a realism style that doesn't add anything to the episode, they just chose realism to for the sake of it. The puppetry was cool but besides a couple of sections nothing was done with it instead it just there. Just like this episode, it's just there. Disappointing especially as a season opener.
Listen, I'm not saying that this music video is not well made, or that the music is not good. What I am saying is that as an episode of Love, death and robots, it fails. Might as well make a video of someone baking a cake, or playing volleyball. I don't understand why the creators included this in the new 10 episode season 4. It's a misuse of talent and creativity, and has nothing to do with Love, death and robots. For us viewers having waited a long time for a new season, there is disappointment and only thing on my mind now is I hope the other nine episodes make up for it. Hopefully they will.
I really enjoy the Red Hot chilli peppers but why is this even an episode? It really doesn't fit with the overall themes the show brings up and other than just liking this song it doesn't really do anything for me. This could just be a cool music video which it basically is. For that reason, I just cannot rate it very high because it really just shouldn't be here at all. If you like the band, I definitely say give it a watch tho.
P. S. David Fincher please stop spending your time on this if you can travel back in time so that you can work on another movie. I understand that this could be a pretty fun getaway that's easy but even if it only took a month that is one month too long.

I'm disappointed with the first episode of Season 4 of Love, Death & Robots, as it failed to live up to its potential. "Can't Stop" felt like a straightforward recreation of a puppet show with CGI, without any meaningful depth or exploration. The episode's potential was wasted on a predictable and unoriginal narrative. A twist, such as the puppets realizing they're being controlled by strings and experiencing an existential crisis, could have elevated the story to something more profound. Alternatively, if the goal was to replicate the concert experience, the episode could have benefited from a more dynamic animation style, blending different techniques and styles to keep the viewer engaged. Unfortunately, this episode felt like a weak start to the season.
