If "The Chosen" and "The Office" had a baby, it would probably look something like "The Promised Land".
The best part is all the Bible references that you'll get or if you don't - look it up or text a friend. The pilot episode covers various events or reference material from Exodus chapters 16-18 and ends by hinting that the next trip is to receive God's law (Exodus 19).
The creativity of this series balances respect for biblical texts and at the same time shows everyone's humanity, whether in a good or bad situation. It reached thousands and thousands of views and has received very positive comments. It is quite a quotable show.
Let's be honest. One thing that Christian media lacks is comedies that aren't corny, while the world blasphemes the Word of God. Have no fear, this series will fill that slot! Looking forward to the next episodes!

Imagine The Office or Parks and Recreation but about Moses and his people in the desert.
Hilarious!
Put millions on the run on a voyage of self-discovery in a desert on a long journey and you cannot help but find comedy.
You thought you knew this story but life is more messed up and funnier than you could have imagined!
This is the first episode in the first series. More episodes in the first season will get filmed soon.

This series is not that good becuse of some points inside the show. The actors not doing good and the makeup artist failed to show faces better, it doesn't deserve the full mark, especially since the linguistic performance and proficiency in the embodiment are bad and the scenes and areas in the series were not carefully chosen. I respect the director, producer and writer for their hard work in writing and directing the series, the time spent and the hypocritical money. I can see what they have done to produce a good series, but this is not enough, unfortunately, and directors, especially the new ones, should pay attention to this thing, thank you.
I was pleasantly surprised by the pilot! It had me laughing from minute one! It's more than just a religious mockumentary style show trying to be The Office or Parks and Rec! It does comedy a service all on its own! It takes a well known story and makes it far less serious and makes it really enjoyable to partake of! And it does it without degrading the material it's based upon. Too many movies and shows written on religious text will take freedoms to make it soon and gloom. The Promised Land is just a funny lighthearted take on the Bible that I think works in its favor! I have high hopes for this show! Loved it and excited to see more!
The quality of comedy in this is literally office level. Does not feel like parks and rec or those other office knock offs. Great vibe. Additionally, the fact that it actually sticks to the plot of the Bible is impressive and makes it that much more enjoyable for a believer to watch.
Contrary to what you might think, no where does this show mock God or anything like that. I also love that it stays clean. There isn't any language, sexual themes, or anything like that. Props to them for that because it is way harder to write clean comedy and this is the hardest laugh I've had in a while.
Please keep the episodes coming.
