          The definitive South Park experience

I'm not sure if I'm the only one that feels like South Park has been stretched way past its limit or maybe I'm just getting old, but I haven't seen a truly funny episode in a very long time. Along comes SOT and makes up for all that. It's hilarious, ballsy and shameless. Perhaps the greatest achievement is that it hardly ever feels like a video game and certainly doesn't look like one. The turn-based battles are a nice throwback to older rpg games while simultaneously feeling fresh and funny (especially when "Princess" Kenny is involved). If you're a South Park fan and have been watching since the start, you absolutely should not miss this experience. My only complaint is the short length. 8 hours is pretty much the extent of it, but besides that, big love to Trey and Matt for giving us the South Park game we deserve. It's about time.

          Amazing!

If you are a South Park fan, there is no way you won't love this game.

Even though it was constantly delayed and was released way too late, it was worth the wait. For starters, the game is hilarious. It uses the same humor as the TV show, and had me laughing throughout the entire story.

The storyline was well thought out and very fun to play. The graphics are the exact same as the TV show, so it feels like you are actually in a TV episode.

I absolutely love this game, and would recommend it to all South Park fans.

          Epic Adventure

I'm a fan of the TV show "South Park" it's one of my favorite TV shows of all time, this game was just a dream come true. Not only is it one of the best licensed games but it's to me one of those fresh examples showing you can still do more with the RPG genre which is part of what makes the game one of my personal favorite RPG's and video games of all time because this game not just captured the spirit of the TV show perfectly to a tee but most importantly the game is actually fun.

The graphics are great as it's basically just the regular animation like in the original TV show. The game play is great as it pretty much the typical standard mechanics and elements of turn based action as well as any RPG, which isn't anything new but it's everything done right. But to me what really made the game stand out is really in it's story line, humor, and execution which makes the game strong.

This game just like the TV show is just hilarious, the dialog and visual jokes are just great. It's sort of the main reason why I played the game which is the same reason I watch the show for the laughs. There really aren't that many RPG's I can think of with humorous elements except for "Maniac Mancion" and the underrated NES game "Nightshade". OK, those are more point and click games but they had RPG elements which sorta count. But anyway I just loved hearing the dialog along with the actual voice actors from the show just say the lines, they are just deliciously crude and absurd.

I really love how the game parodies and homages certain clichés and elements in the RPG genre. One favorite scene of mine is when you go to Canada and it's an 8 bit over world which is awesome and hilarious as it's an homage to "Final Fantasy" and the "Dragon Warrior" games on the NES.

Or even part of the story line in a way is an homage to the SNES game "Earthbound" just like in that game you have to deal with aliens in your hometown and the protagonists are kids. And like in that game you have a few non cliché weapons and methods. For weapons you have a medical crutch, vibrator, basketball, dodge ball, and any other everyday items along the way. You have an ability option which is the branch for the super moves which are great like putting on a football helmet and charging at ramming speed toward an opponent. And of course farting is the magic powers, yeah I'm not kidding who'd of ever though farting could actually be a tool of great use.

I really loved having some of the essential characters act as party members. Each of them are uniquely playable and have strengths and weaknesses. I love using Stan since he's one of the strongest and he gets to weld the atlantian sword from the film "Conan the Barbarian". However I also loved playing as Butters, the highlight of him is becoming Professor Chaos which is just awesome and with him he just has a vast number of powers that provide strong offense and defense depending on when and where you stop the roulette wheel.

However what I also love about the story line is in a way it's somewhat of a love letter to both the RPG and fantasy genre. It's simply about kids playing pretend fantasy to the extreme level literally. But that's what most RPG games really are their really games where you use your imagination; someone reads off on a book on what's happening, you make your moves, roll the dies and imagine the outcome. This game really captures that essence really well, I actually found myself engrossed in the fantasy adventure they were creating and almost wished this was a game that could go on forever, which to me is part of what a good RPG is.

This game is an epic, well sort of.

The single most faithful video game adaptation I've ever played

*SERIOUS BLOODY CONTENT WARNING FOR THIS GAME* I mean, if you know anything about South Park, that's an unnecessary warning, but still, if you're offended by or just don't find the show's signature brand of humour very funny, this game won't do anything to change your mind, so don't even bother. That's because from top to bottom, beginning to end, this game IS the show. They're completely indistinguishable, the animation is the same, the voice actors are all reprising their roles, and it's easily the best thing about this game. The story too, feels exactly like a 10-15 hour long episode of the show, in a good way, with a lot of nonsensical and hilarious twists and turns that really puts the make-believe fantasy war between the kids into perspective. However, I did feel some moments in the story dragged on a bit, and towards the middle of the game, you'll be expected to make a choice that you'd think would drastically affect the rest of the story somehow, but it affects a grand total of absolutely nothing. Bit of a letdown. On PS3, the game does like to stutter a fair bit, but it is mostly made up for by the amazing world of the town, how detailed it is, and how packed to the brim with easter eggs and hilarious items it is. It's so rare to see a straight up comedy game these days, that it's a joy to see one that took any opportunity it could to throw a joke in somewhere, whether that be in the inventory screen, NPC dialogue, or during combat. Speaking of combat though, that feels like the most seriously lacking area of the game. I played the game on the hardest difficulty and it was still an absolute breeze, and overall it's a very shallow RPG, where 9 times out of 10, the best strategy will always be to simply equip the highest level items in your inventory and spam magic attacks, while being able to refill your health or magic before attacking if necessary. For a while, that's fine, and the animations of the special attacks for each character are funny and imaginative, but after seeing them for 10 hours straight, and mostly using the same strategies over and over again, it does end up feeling a little tedious by the end. Still, if you're a fan of the show, you'll undoubtedly find a lot of enjoyment in this, and if you're not someone who already knows they don't like the show, but haven't had much experience with it, give it a go anyway, it's a charming, gross, satirical, outrageous good time.

What Pokes The Stick Of Truth

I never heard of or watched South Park in my entire life because it was never shown on my TV channels as a kid until I discovered this game.

South Park Stick Of Truth is the most derogatory but still a great game to play. South Park may be South Park by its nature and I am not much of a fan of South Park but there are pros and cons that I can say about this game.

The character creation is very simple and very good for making my South Park protagonist. The combat is absolutely amazing it is both turn-based and interacting moves to know how effective it is, The comedy is really good even though there are offensive parts and the animation in the game plays absolutely just like South Park like I am playing a video game while watching TV.

While there are some very offensive parts like Cartman's faction name which good thing I am from the Philippines. Ally summon assists felt very useless because they won't let me use them in boss battles and collection spots like Chinpokomon will always be permanently locked when going to different locations. And a very rude forced name

If you are a true South Park fan game then this is one of the great games in the South Park franchise.

          • Trivia
Trey Parker cited Mother 2: Gîgu no gyakushuu (1994), Paper Mario (2000), and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011) as his main inspirations behind the game's RPG mechanics. The decision to have a silent protagonist was drawn from "The Legend of Zelda" series.

          • Crazy credits
In the bomb disarming mini-game, if you lose you see the entire town explode and a fake set of credits identical to the show's appear before re-spawning you.
          • Alternate versions
Scenes involving anal probing and abortions were censored in the Australian and EMFA versions of the game. Matt Stone and Trey Parker got around this by inserting an image of a crying koala and Michelangelo's David doing a facepalm, respectively, and a text inter-title "apologizing" for the censorship and describing what was happening in the scene while leaving the audio intact.
