    Great watch!

The movie is very well written and beautifully executed. It is very important for film makers to tell such stories and for our audience to support them. The way the story progresses and characters are introduced, it keeps the audience on their feet and hooked to the screen. The director has done a great job. Acting was amazing and even the child actors have done an exceptional job. Cinematography is a very important part of any film and this film is very well shot. Every scene is a visual experience. Watching this film was an emotional journey. Glad that topics like these are being highlighted by today's filmmakers. A very thought provoking film and definitely worth a watch.

A Bold Realism : A tale of young voice

"Gunjal" is a profound and moving cinematic experience that delves into the heart-wrenching story of Iqbal Messeh, a Christian kid in Pakistan whose life is tragically cut short due to his brave stand for basic rights. The movie brilliantly portrays the upended results of this senseless murder, creating a narrative that is as harrowing as it is necessary.

Set against the backdrop of Pakistan's complex socio-cultural landscape, "Gunjal" transcends mere storytelling to become a stark commentary on the realities faced by minorities in the region. The film's portrayal of Iqbal, played with poignant vulnerability and resilience, is a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Shoaib Sultan , a young enthusiastic Pakistani filmmaker and director of the movie has done a commendable job in weaving a tale that is not just a story of a single child but a mirror to the society at large. The film's gritty realism is further enhanced by its attention to detail and the use of local settings, which adds an authentic flavor to the narrative.

What sets "Gunjal" apart is its focus on the importance of education in Pakistan. It isn't just about the loss of a young life; it's about the loss of potential, dreams, and the right to a future. The film makes a powerful statement on how education can be a transformative force, capable of altering the destinies of children like Iqbal.

The cinematography is captivating, capturing the essence of Pakistani culture and the stark contrasts between the lives of the privileged and the underprivileged. The soundtrack complements the narrative beautifully, adding depth to the emotional landscape of the film.

For families, "Gunjal" is more than just a movie; it's an educational experience. It's a must-watch that brings forth complex themes with simplicity and clarity. The message is loud and clear: those who raise their voices for justice in a society riddled with inequalities are often silenced by unknown forces.

In conclusion, "Gunjal" is a powerful, thought-provoking film that successfully sheds light on critical issues. It is a film that demands attention, not just for its artistic merit but for the crucial message it carries. It's a clarion call for change and a tribute to the unsung heroes who dare to challenge the status quo.

    Great Movie!!!!!

Gunjal is a compelling exploration of justice, journalism, and societal issues, centered around the investigation of the fictionalized murder of child activist Irfan Masih, inspired by the real-life hero Iqbal Masih. The film weaves a gripping narrative that not only captivates the audience but also sheds light on significant socio-political challenges.

Ahmed Ali Akbar delivers a standout performance as Shahbaz Bhatti, the young Christian crime reporter determined to unearth the truth. The character's hunger to make a mark in the journalistic world is palpable, and Akbar's portrayal skillfully conveys the complexities of Shahbaz's journey. The movie cleverly intertwines the protagonist's personal aspirations with the larger pursuit of justice, creating a nuanced and engaging storyline.

    Great movie overall.

    Gorgeous film, solid story

This film is gripping, beautiful, heartbreaking, and illuminating. The story is handled with care, the characters shine, the setting is dynamic and the moments captured are impactful. I love that the film includes many powerful Pakistani women including a newspaper publisher, a political advocate, an investor and more.

The choice to make the story from the perspective of an investigative journalist was inspired. It made the heavy topic of the murder of a child who experienced and then advocated against child labor engaging.

Gunjal doesn't serve up easy answers or pretend to know all of the answers. And in that way it finds a story that rings with truth.

    Complexly Woven, like its title

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this movie but it captured me from the beginning with its beautiful cinematography then drew me in with the story. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it shifted and added a new and compelling layer. What I loved most is that it gave me knew ways of looking at the issue of child labor and economic development around the world - not just in Pakistan, but in a global sense. As easy as it would be to think this is an isolated problem, it faces all countries. I admire the courage and honesty it takes to pursue such a story in one's own backyard. But simply, it was a beautifully told story about the complexities of human nature, the choices that confront us and who we'd like to be in the world vs who we really are, as well as the larger world we live in itself. Done with compassion, grace, but also a fierceness. Finally, not to miss the symbolism of the title. We live in complicated times where we want there to be clear good and evil, but the reality is so tangled. Somehow, I still felt an element of hope, at the end of the movie in spite of the fact that we face unsolvable and perennial problems. A reminder that there will always be people willing to fight, to speak up, and to tell stories. I'm so glad I got to see the film.
