    AT LEAST,Let Them Eat Cake...

a Philip Gardiner flick. So,We have a birthday party for a priest whose a friend ,Or a friend who happens to be a priest. There is crazy presents and games and moments where we hope people are,Just alittle too drunk. Then a mysterious birthday card is read and it says all at the party have been poisoned and must look for clues to the antidote

Philip Gardiner besides playing a character who is videotaping party goings on,Let his cast ad-lib ENTIRE script to reach a conclusion only he knew..

Philip can do great things like Darkwatchers & Cam Girl and then do the lurid, almost Giallo-like stuff like ONE HOUR. The film is entertaining and surprising and has some very good nudes to boot.

    No script? Terrible idea!!

Their conversation was so awkward, nobody knew what to say. A couple of characters pretty much carried the rest of them, actually more of a drag than a carry. Too many awkward silences so they would just look at each other and squirm. When a couple of them couldn't think of anything else, they would get up and walk out or move around the room aimlessly. It was really embarrassing to watch. If the girls weren't half way cute, nobody would make it through the whole film. The teasing promise of more boobs after the scene in the first five minutes. But no, just a waste of time after the first boob shot.

    So bad

Yet another film that starts out with a pretty good premise, but totally botches it. 6 people are at party, and most of them are very annoying. Mistake one. There is no sympathy for any of the characters later. Then, it takes a horrifically long time to get to the reason we are watching. It is painful to watch them talk and play stupid games. But finally, they eat the poisoned cake and read a card that tells them they have 1 hour to live. Of course they think it's a joke. Most would I guess. But eventually they realize it's not. So when they realize it's real, they move at a snails pace. When they read a new clue, it takes them 20 seconds to open the clue, then another 30 seconds to read it. When they find a box, the dude opens it taking it one layer at a time. Time is at a premium, and they never even look for it. I would be tearing that place up, but they sit around stripping and talking. No one runs, no one calls the cops, no one searches. They just scream and shriek.. literally. One character screams for almost 5 minutes in the going to the tub and while in the tub. No one ever notices the guy who didn't eat the cake either. The one least affected during the whole movie suddenly dies first, and no one is even checking on her. This is just a dumb movie. With clever dialouge and interaction between the characters, this could have been a good movie. Instead we get a mishmash of adults acting like drunken teens and horrible conversations, very awkward moments and a lot of what are they thinking moments, and awkward silences. It isn't very often I get mad I watched a movie, but I wish I never had watvhed this drivel. Not only bc it was bad, but bc it had potential to be something more than it was.

    • Trivia
Actress Ann Barbour said the atmosphere during the rehearsal and filming was pretty tense most of the time. Director Philip Gardiner kept the actors guessing so that they didn't know what to expect next. She was also pretty nervous because they were in the middle of nowhere with no phone reception, so if anything weird or bad had happened, they nowhere to run to.
