Pros:
The story, while not entirely original, is well executed and well built.
The characters have their own depth and there is great character development throughout the series.
Contrary to what other reviewers have said, I loved the ending, tho I felt it was a bit rushed. Most of the animes that I have watched have average endings but, guilty crown has one the most well built and satisfying endings that I have ever seen.
The animation is pretty good with well executed fight scenes.
The soundtrack is amazing and the music that is played during action scenes, really adds to the experience.
Cons: The story is pretty similar to code geass, and in comparison, isn't handled as well Some plot points were not explained properly and it seemed as there were some character decisions only for plot convience.
All in all, as other reviews have already suggested, this show contains many similarities to Code Geass. However, guilty crown is a great anime in it's own regard and i would defineltly recommed it to any anime fan. As such, i wourld reccommend keeping an open mind and to not compare the show to Code Geass. The 7.1 rating doesn't do the show justice as it definetly amongst the better fantasy/sci-fi animes out there and it is highly underated.

Where do I even start with this one? Let's start with the good things about this show. The animation is gorgeous. There are really some epic art bombs in this show that make you forget how bad the story is. The music is absolutely beautiful, and I have it about the sang music, not the standard epic fight music that was decent. The show starts with this beautiful song that makes you think your gonna watch something epic. And after the first episode that thought was gone. But I continued watching. After a few episodes, I came to notice that I didn't like a character in this show. Especially the main love interest for our main character. I absolutely hated her in the first half of the show. The second part is defiantly better, much slower paced and a story that's not as thrown at your face than the first half. And then the ending happened... The shortest, anti-climactic, stupidest ending ever. If it weren't for the animation and the music this show would have gotten a lot lower from me.
I just finished watching guilty crown and i must say i am baffled. The idea in the first place is very original and very exciting. The anime does an excellent job of portraying the events and expressing the idea. The animations and soundtrack are terrific and the dubb quality is top of the notch. One will find many discouraging reviews for this show. I say that they are right to a certain degree, the characters could use more development but otherwise it would be a ten over ten. The ending is very satisfying and not too rushed. There are a few plot twists along the way and the story is very exciting. As i said before, the only drawback is the lacking character development in some cases. Animations: 10 Soundtrack: 10 Events: 9 Character Development: 7 Dub and Sub quality(English): 10 Overall score: 9/10
When i checked the rating after watching this i was shocked to see just 7.1,
it really deserves more really really more, it has a fantastic screen play with more than a decent story line and an excellent character development,
The quality of the animation is beautiful picture perfect you can say.
I don't know why it is so underrated, probably the reason for this is the story line being bit too confusing in the initial stage, That's the only reason i can come up with.
Initially you really won't understand what's happening, what and why are they attacking each other, which is a good side and which is not, Anyway moving forward things will start picking up and you will get proper clarity for all that has happened and what is happening,
it may not give you any anxiety or a high level curiosity but still It is an interesting anime,
The only suggestion i can give you is not to get frustrated with the initial episodes.
The anime is divided into 2 parts. The first part, (Ep. 1-12) and the second. (Ep 13-22) The first part is astonishing; notwithstanding, the second is not really fun.
Basically, this anime has outstanding graphics for an anime that was made in 2011. Also, it had an exceeding music and VCs. However, the storyline was a little confusing.
As I said, the first part of the story is great. A lot of supense, a rebel-ike story like the Hunger Games series, etc. When I was watching the first part of the anime, I was wondering why people loathed this show a lot. This show stayed in my mind when I went to sleep, and this show even inspired me a little.
I was a little confused about the storyline on the second part. There were some of the parts where they explained, but the show didn't really explain why some of the characters acted like this and why their minds have changed. When I was watching the second part of the show, it felt like a hacker was controlling the anime. It was going really good on the first part, but when the "Shu King" part showed up, it was not really good.
