Throughout the many years of the box office, there have been plenty of records broken and maintained, one of which is held by the 2017 action/thriller film Collide. The box office still hasn't fully recovered since the 2020 pandemic, with the biggest box office year since then, 2023, still being a weaker showing than every year since 2006. However, even during the box office's biggest days in the mid-late 2010s, Collide broke an unfortunate record that no project since has been unlucky enough to repeat.
Collide, starring Felicity Jones and Nicholas Hoult, was released in Germany initially in 2016, before its American release later in 2017, and unfortunately, neither release was able to accomplish much at the box office. While it is unlikely that anyone expected the movie to do as well as the biggest films at the time, 2017 was a huge year for the box office, and the film's box office failings certainly would...

Taylor Swift may have played her second Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadum on Saturday night, but she wasn’t the only game in town. British stars, from Keeley Hawes (Netflix’s Prince Andrew film Scoop), Yasmin Finney (Doctor Who), legendary broadcasters and newsreaders Moira Stuart and Angela Rippon, and Adrian Lester (Renegade Nell, The Sandman) to Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Nathaniel Curtis (It’s a Sin), Taj Atwal (Line of Duty, Memory) and Susan Wokoma (Enola Holmes), flocked to London’s National History Museum to an animal masquerade ball organized by charity The Feathers Association, celebrating its 90th anniversary, and partners. And they were joined by such U.S. guests as Esai Morales (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Ozark).

Despite challenges and a tight schedule, Titanic became a cinematic masterpiece, grossing over $2 billion at the box office. The iconic kissing scene between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio was a nightmare to shoot due to lighting and makeup mishaps. Titanic was the most expensive movie ever made in 1997 with a $200 million budget, but it ultimately paid off, becoming a massive success.
When it comes to romantic scenes set on doomed cruise liners, James Camerons Titanic has cornered that particular niche market. However, no matter how gooey-eyed fans get over seeing Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio sharing an intimate moment or two onboard the ill-fated ship, filming those scenes were, in Winslets words, a mess.

Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel publicly announced Abby’s marriage with a new video on social media on Thursday. Abby married husband Josh Bowling, a U.S. Army veteran, in 2021. The twins, 34, kept the news private until the marriage was confirmed through official records obtained in March.
The video shows Abby and Brittany, arms around Josh’s shoulders, swaying to a remix of Adele‘s “Rolling in the Deep” on the dimly lit dance floor at the Jerome Event Center in Delano, Minnesota. The twins also seemed to clap back at critics in a separate video posted on the same day.
The sisters captioned a video montage of them getting ready for the wedding with, “We know you think you know us,” with two heart emojis and “#sisterhoodgoals.” The video featured the song “Collide” by Justine Skye, using the lyrics, “I know you think that you know me/But you...

A trailer for Prey has just arrived online – and no, we’re not talking about that Predator movie that was just released a while back. This is a new movie called Prey, which Vertical will be giving a theatrical and VOD release on March 15th. It seems kind of soon to be sending another movie called Prey out into the world, but clearly Vertical disagrees. Ryan Phillippe (Shooter), Emile Hirsch (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), and Mena Suvari (American Beauty) star in this “nature run amok” survival thriller, and you can check out the trailer in the embed above. A poster for the film can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Nicholas Hoult has the acting range to play Lex Luthor in Superman: Legacy. Nicholas Hoult has already played a millennial elitist who believes the rich should eat the poor in a horror film. Nicholas Hoult's horror role improved on Jessie Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, proving he can be a madman drunk on power.
The following article contains a mention of suicide.
It may have taken some time, but James Gunn's Superman: Legacy is taking shape in big ways. With David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, the foundation has already been laid for Superman's next outing. In addition, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced were cast as Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl.
Now, the film has its Jimmy Olsen in Skylar Gisondo and its Eve Teschmacher in Sara Sampaio. However, the biggest announcement since Corenswet is news that Nicholas Hoult will be playing Lex Luthor.

It's easy to forget that country music singer Morgan Wallen actually got his start on The Voice. But although he was a contestant in season 6, he didn't actually win the reality competition show. In the years since, he has released albums, toured a lot, and even been romantically linked to Livvy Dunne.
There's a debate about whether competition shows actually lead to fame and fortune for the participants. While some singers do really well, others fade into the background. Would Morgan Wallen have been an even bigger star if he had won The Voice? Will the reality series ever have a winner who becomes a huge success?
What Happened To Morgan Wallen On The Voice?
Morgan Wallen has a $4 million net worth. Being kicked off The Voice didn't ruin his career. But viewers were still surprised at the way that his story played out.

Rocket Science has boarded the biopic “The Good Spy,” about CIA operative Robert Ames, from Oscar-nominated “Paradise Now” and “Omar” director Hany Abu-Assad.
The pic is based on Pulitzer Prize-winning author Kai Bird’s biography of Ames. Scott Frazier (“Berliner”) is adapting for screen.
“Free Solo” and “Everest” producer Evan Hayes will produce under his Ace (Anomaly Content & Entertainment) production company. Laurie MacDonald and Walter Parkes will executive produce with Frazier, while Bird will act as a consultant on the project.
Rocket Science is financing the film and will co-represent worldwide sales with CAA Media Finance.
Said Abu-Assad: “When Robert Ames moved deeper into the life of Ali Hasan Salameh, a prominent Plo member, he realizes that not only is he crossing the line between the CIA and being involved in his enemy’s cause, but the friendship between the two men leads to a certain threat to the establishment of both sides.

A new year has finally arrived and HBO Max is set to open it with a bang. With its list of new releases for January 2022, HBO Max is rolling out some intriguing original series and an absolutely packed slate of library titles.
The real highlight this month comes on Jan. 13 with the release of Peacemaker. Developed by James Gunn, this series spins off John Cena’s titular character from last years’ The Suicide Squad. The show will delve into the pathology of a superhero who will achieve peace regardless of how many people need to be killed to attain it.
Also of note this month are second seasons for two major HBO series. Euphoria season 2 and The Righteous Gemstones season 2 both premiere on Jan. 9, making for quite the odd double feature. Meanwhile, the fifth and final season of superb comedy Search Party arrives on Jan. 7.
January 2022 is light as far as original movies go.

Like seemingly all the awards shows this season, the 63rd Grammy Awards were filled with surprises, ranging from unprecedented record-breaking splits to a significant number of upsets. Not only that, we also saw a lot of solid trends broken this year, much like we saw in the nominations earlier in the season. Let’s take a dive into the biggest and weirdest moments of the night.
SEE2021 Grammy winners list: 63rd Annual Grammy results in all 84 categories
Splits everywhere
The Grammys are infamously known for sweeps, so to see Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, and Brittany Howard all leave with one Grammy apiece was definitely odd. It was especially weird because Styles edged out Lipa for Pop Solo, yet Lipa defeated him and Taylor Swift for Pop Vocal Album, and then Swift beat Lipa for Album of the Year despite not winning anything else.

Before this week, one of the worst moments of Morgan Wallen‘s singing career was when his coach Adam Levine cut him during “The Voice” Season 6 playoffs. Six years later, Wallen is no doubt having flashbacks to his untimely elimination as he was just dumped by “Saturday Night Live” for breaking Covid-19 health safety protocols.
The rising country star was set to perform two songs during the October 10 episode of “SNL,” alongside host Bill Burr. It would have been a great chance for Wallen to reintroduce himself to audiences after originally rising to fame on NBC’s reality TV show, especially now that he’s having a successful run on the awards front, earning nominations at the Cmt Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

The fine art of romance is a difficult éclat to master, and if anyone understands that, it's Tiana Major9. After all, muddled feelings about relationships are what inspired her new EP, At Sixes and Sevens, which dropped on Aug. 7. A follow-up to 2019's Rehearsal @ Nine, the 24-year-old star's latest project is an introspective journey through love's tangled nexus. "During this period of my life, I've been feeling very conflicted about love, how to be in love, and how to navigate love," the "Collide" songstress told Popsugar. "So the EP is really about all of those things."
"I learned that I'm highly sensitive and very in tune with my emotions, and that's what I love about the EP."
But At Sixes and Sevens is more than your cookie-cutter "love is complicated" collection of tunes. There's an overarching theme of self-awareness that enriches the exploration, and the London-born vocalist harps on that insight by interlacing short affirmations.

Farewell to the great Florian Schneider, co-founder of Kraftwerk, the German electronic duo who changed everything about the way music sounds. “Kraftwerk is not a band,” Schneider told Rolling Stone in 1975. “It’s a concept. We call it ‘Die Menschmaschine,’ which means ‘the human machine.’ We are not the band. I am me. Ralf is Ralf. And Kraftwerk is a vehicle for our ideas.” As his longtime collaborator Ralf Hütter once said, Schneider was the “sound fetishist” of the group — the machine in the mensch-machine.
Kraftwerk always reveled in their reputation as cerebral technocrats.

“Queen & Slim,” the film, traffics in sudden tragedy and symbolic terror as it portrays the violence of self-defense and self-awareness in stark, painful terms. It deserves an equally audacious score and soundtrack, a job that has gone to another Devonté Hynes, the British singer, songwriter, guitarist, record producer and director in his guise of Blood Orange.
Hynes has been known for his other musical projects, the punky Test Icicles and the dreamy Lightspeed Champion. But as Blood Orange, Hynes has found himself at the axis of abstract soul and ambient electronic pop with a lyrical edge that is as deeply emotional as it is bracingly inventive. Plus, in the last several years, Orange has been in the pink of top-tier production and writing assignments for the likes of Mariah Carey, Solange, Mac Miller, Fka Twigs, Haim, Florence and the Machine, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kylie Minogue and Blondie. We’ve got some interesting new information to share with you regarding the long awaited Gears of War movie. The script for the film is being worked on by F. Scott Frazier (Collide and xXx: Return of Xander Cage).
When it was announced that he was writing the movie, it was said that the story would be set on the planet Sera, and that it follows a former P.O.W. “who leads the human resistance against the Locust Horde, a race of creatures who emerge from beneath the Earth’s surface intent on eliminating mankind.”
According to Gears of War head Rod Fergusson, the movie will not be set in the same reality of the game. It will be its own thing and tell its own story, a story that will not be dependent on the games. He explains:

Universal Pictures is moving forward with their big screen adaptation of the hit video game Gears of War.
This project has been sitting around waiting to be developed at the studio for a couple years. They picked up the rights to the property back in 2016, but now according to The Wrap, they’re ready to get serious about moving forward with it. They’ve hired screenwriter F. Scott Frazier to write the script. Frazier’s previous writing credits include Collide and xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
I think that the films Frazier has worked on have been pretty mediocre action film projects, so I’m not expecting much from the Gears of War script that he’ll write. I’m sure the movie will look visually awesome, but as I’ve said many times before, visuals don’t make a great film.

One year ago, fueled by female audiences, Wonder Woman was lighting up the summer box office, en route to becoming the third largest domestic release of 2017. This weekend, the female-led ensemble cast of Ocean's 8 looks to deliver some solid results of its own following a downer weekend last week. Also hitting theaters is A24's much-talked about horror film Hereditary as well as Global Road's Hotel Artemis. Meanwhile, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is getting its start internationally this weekend, two weeks ahead of its domestic bow. Debuting in a healthy 4,145 theaters, Ocean's 8 features a massive ensemble including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina and Mindy Kaling. The film fits within the Ocean's film franchise, which began with the 2001 remake starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon and debuted with $38.1 million. Whether or not you agree that “The Emoji Movie” was the Worst Picture of 2017, it’s easy to single out the Razzies as the worst “awards” show. Routinely picking low-hanging fruit that’s already been panned rather than making even slightly bold choices, the 38-year-old institution “honored” the critically reviled “Emoji Movie” with a total of four prizes.
Also singled out were “The Mummy,” for which Tom Cruise was named Worst Actor, and “Fifty Shades Darker,” which was deemed the Worst Sequel, Rip-Off, or Remake.
