The acting and shots were of very high quality. Unfortunately, the problems start to become more and more evident as the film progresses. It struggles to tell a coherent story and lacks the necessary continuity for good storytelling. Many scenes tend to drag and others are not given enough time to breathe and really find their footing. The audio was incredibly quiet, making it difficult to understand what was happening in the plot, and what characters were saying to each other. The film's choreography was choppy and resembled something one would find in a Disney Channel Original movie. Red Under Wraps is a perfect example of what happens when you mix strong acting and shots with subpar writing. It definitely did not live up to the hype.
A solid student film with a surprising amount of delivery in the acting and camera department. It felt a little misguided at times, or perhaps rushed towards the second half, but over all it was a solid job done for novice filmmakers. The camera quality and varied, and was at times way too close to characters faces, but when the camerawork was good, it was very pleasing to the eye. For every awkward shot there was, there were other shots that were genuinely gorgeous. The dialogue ranged over the movie, but the highlight of the film was clearly detective Warner, who was played with skill. A balance of seriousness and a bit of dark humor made the film easier to digest, without going overboard in the drama department. However, the film's best guest weakness is that it loses cohesiveness with the run time. The first half is tight, but the second half is feels unfocused at times.
Red Under Wraps, a film that feels at times, extremely well made, but at other times, very rushed both in its delivery of story and its overall production. Sound quality seems lacking at times but crisp in other leading to parts of the film feeling underwhelming when scenes that could've popped with proper sound effects or audio mixing, fall completely flat with little to no sound, such as the fights which have very little audio giving them no impact. The shots while nice were at times out of focus and blurry, which ruins whatever chance the shot had at being effective in both world building and storytelling. The writing, at times, is very clever with good lines and decent direction with the actors. However, the majority of the script is very cliche, formulaic and soulless. The actors all do a really fantastic job with what they're given, and I've seen all of these actors give amazing performances both in the past and on this film so I commend them for making things work. I also do commend a majority of the editing work done as scenes transition nicely and I like the chapters separating parts of the plot. Overall, a script revision, a couple reshoots, and some smarter technical choices could easily make this story great, as it stands this feels like the demo reel that lacks proper care, and focus.
Red Under Waps has everything that I enjoy in a good movie - a thriller with a great plot twist and some very funny lines throughout.
The Cast - I like how the writer/director develops the characters in the movie. Each actor is perfect for their role. The cast did an amazing job showing off their character's personality.
The Plot - The plot is very engaging. It is easy to follow and quite entertaining. I enjoy a plot twist in a movie, and Red Under Wraps gives you exactly that.
Red Under Wraps did not disappoint. If you like this type of film you will most definitely enjoy it as much as I did.

Where do I begin? Red Under Wraps is kind of a Hodge podge of a bunch of different film plots all kind of thrown together in a pot and then left outside for some raccoons to eat. Films like, "Hoodwinked", "The Batman 2022", "The Fugitive", "Me, Myself & Irene", and so much more. It's honestly painful to watch at times, cause it makes you think about all the better films you could be watching instead of this. The only saving grace this "movie" has is in the editing, which is done pretty effectively throughout. All the actors and actresses were the real stars of the show in this. Braden Kralis turns in a powerful performance in every scene he is in, even the ones where he just stands there staring. Triniti Cruz did a phenomenal job, but would have definitely benefited from more screen time. Matt Teeny and Wes Melton are truly powerful actors and definitely deserved more screen time. As for all the other actors and actresses in the film, their performances were top notch. Yeah, apart from the acting though, it's a outright mess.
