I was blown away by the first episode of "Oshi No Ko" (Pushing My Favorite Child), which tells a realistic and daring story of the entertainment industry. The character development is incredibly nuanced and touching, drawing me in from the first scene.
Clocking in at a feature-length 90 minutes, the first episode breaks conventions and tells a complete story of the protagonist's mother. The themes of idol life and the contrast between lies and reality are expertly explored, making for a truly extraordinary viewing experience.
Furthermore, the episode is elevated by the beautiful and haunting soundtrack from Yoasobi, which adds a layer of depth to an already emotionally resonant story.
Overall, "Oshi No Ko" Episode 1 is a masterpiece of storytelling, and I am eagerly anticipating the rest of the series, which promises to be a thrilling detective story in the making.

I just found this anime on Tik Tok the other day and thought nothing of it, just to be surprised by the BEST introduction to Character and the series in the entire world of cinematic masterpieces. Not only could they create a binding between the viewer and the characters in a short time of an hour, they put you through a whole roller coaster of emotions. I don't want to spoil anything, but if you want to watch this series, then be prepared for EVERYTHING. I personally wished, I wouldn't have been spoiled and that I could watch this episode again like I did the first time, because it was just so unbelievable good.
So for me, it's a total 10/10.
GO WATCH IT NOW.

Personally when I first saw this anime, and saw it was getting popular and I thought: "oh great another weird looking anime getting popular". But one day I decided to read the basic plot description, and I thought, like most people would... it sounds weird. But then as a joke a decided to start watching this. First off a 1 hour first episode seems weird, but it was worth it. Second, with out spoiling anything... the plot summary is a tad bit misleading. And third and final, I may or may not have watched this all in the span of 1 day cause it was so good. Basically I relearned the lesson of: Don't judge a book by its cover (or should I say anime)

I have been reading the manga since it's release and I was instantly hooked, thus becoming a huge fan of the series. So I am happy to say that the people at Doga Kobo have perfectly captured all the feelings I had while reading the prologue and somehow more. There is truly very few ways I can describe these emotions I have. The best way to understand these feelings though is by watching this 82 minute masterpiece of a prologue! I don't just recommend watching this episode, I demand it. So what are you doing already? Go watch the first episode Oshi no Ko and experience what me and many others felt for the first time.
The thing is that I have seen a lot of anime and by lot I mean around 200 anime series and movies both counted. I have seen different types of genre of animes. But even after seeing a lot of popular anime with best storylines and direction, hand down this takes place in my top 10 animes easily even after I have only seen 4 episodes. This is a true masterpiece anime of 2023 that just came out of nowhere and mark my words it will take place in top animes of a lot of otakus who watch anime for its story and direction not just for a single type kf genre.
Watch it you won't regret it untill you have a biased mind for new animes, trust me.

- TriviaThe title has 2 possible meanings Oshi means "to Push" or Support. Ko is usually used to refer to a person or a Girl. Putting them together means "the Girl that Supports you" in reference to Ai supporting Ruby & Aqua in their past lives as an Idol. However, Oshi is also often a term used by Idol fans for their Favorite Idols that they Support & Ko can be a term for "Child". Meaning the title can also be said as "the Child of the Idol you Support." In reference to Ruby & Aqua's new lives as AI's Children.
