This turned out to be better and more horrifying than I initially expected. The Veil is a short horror story about a woman who discovers something sinister lurking in her bathroom. However, the mysterious entity can only be seen through her shower curtain, making her question whether it's real or just her imagination.
As is common in horror films, there are several frustrating moments: walking around a dark apartment instead of turning on the lights, even after hearing strange noises or seeing something unsettling; not closing the door behind you when a terrifying entity is chasing you, but instead running around aimlessly... all those classic horror clichés can drive you nuts.
Interestingly, based on its shadow, the entity looked a bit like a galactic hunter straight out of The Predator-though, obviously, that's not the case. The ending was also quite predictable. The story unfolds in a way that makes it easy to guess what's going to happen next. That said, The Veil is still a solid piece of work and delivers an effectively eerie atmosphere.
