The Lennon Sisters: Same Song, Separate Voices

This show from 2011 follows the career of the Lennon Sisters from their start with Lawrence Welk to the then present time. It includes information on their life and music, the stars they appeared with, and others. The songs they perform represent a wide range of styles. It is a great show.

Now the down side. It is yet another special broadcast during the PBS beg-a-thons. As such, they pervert it into an infomercial, pushing CDs and DVDs in return for contributions. This in itself would not be so bad, if it weren't for the breaks. I timed them, and out of a 90 minute show, 30 minutes, 1/3, consisted of this shilling, with the usual guilt trip "We wouldn't be here without you" schtick, despite the fact PBS is subsidized by taxpayers and big corporate money. The comments of Kathy Lee Gifford could also have been omitted.

This show is easily a 10 without their heavy hand.
