Too much about the narrator

Not a bad documentary but I've noticed a trend with these recent low budget American productions: they focus too much on the individual at their heart at the expense of the thing they're supposed to be about. Thus the information on Lovecraft, his background and, particularly emphasised, his racism, is all fascinating stuff, but I couldn't care too much about the narrator or his upbringing. I was delighted to see the scholarly ST Joshi playing in support and only wish it could have been his story instead. Saying that, we do get to look at the locations where the author lived and worked, which is a must for fans.
