    Love SheZow!

Wow.  This show is innovative.  And like most innovations it will be met with mixed feelings but I love this show.  It's quirky, genuinely funny and has good messages for kids.  One episode deals with stealing, one with empathy, another with jealousy.  It's one strong story after another and I look forward to the next.

There seems to be a lot about it online and episodes get put up and yanked down faster than laundry on a clothes line but I will remain diligent and look for it to be back soon, for it is one of the few shows I will let my kids watch.  In the meantime, You go girl!  Let's not read too much into the concept.  It's just a cute little comedy for kids and nobody needs to make it into anything else.

Yes, the series is full of she-puns and normally I would hate that but these puns are good and they actually got me coming up with my own she-puns.  Unfortunately.  The theme song is an ear worm which I wish I could yank out but at least it's catchy.  The design of the show is fresh.  There's nothing out there that I know of that looks like this and the designer, Kyla May should be applauded.  The quality of the stories do however vary from episode to episode and there have been a couple of stinkers but the great episodes, like Mister Nice Guy and Cold Finger certainly do make up for it.  I think the gender angle of the show will be good for kids if left alone.  That's because it is only one aspect of the series.  Like I said, it's fun, light and good natured.  The quality of the actual animation is spotty.  It can be very good and it can be very bad.  The characters often come off wooden and rigid but other times not.

The series is hit and miss overall, but the genuine comedy makes up for any shortcomings.

    Shezow is amazing

I am 6 years old. I want the toy of Shezow. I want to have a Shezow pillow. I want the DVD's and Mum is making a costume. It's awesome. I want to meet Shezowwwww. I love Shezow because she is pretty and she is a boy who becomes a girl superhero. I like Maz, Kelly and Guy/Shezow. It's a good show. It's cool. Shezow is like me. Shezow has beautiful hair. I like how Guy is pretty cool with the superhero costume even though it's a girl's outfit. He is coming to terms with having a boy and a girl identity. The car is awesome because the glamrock in the car makes it powerful and it changes to become the she c ten. Note from Parent - This review is in my child's own words. She loves the show and I approve of it's concepts. It's written to be funny and entertaining for children not as a statement of any 'hidden agendas'. (Does Bugs Bunny have 'hidden agendas'?)The storyline could use some fine tuning, but what can you really do with a 10min episode, most of them are excellent anyway. Bring on season two of a superhero my child can relate to.

    Interesting form of imagination

I personally enjoyed the show.. I think it's a show that kids will enjoy because of the concept of how Shezow came to be...Also because many kids can relate to many situations where they touched something they shouldn't have which resulted in some kind of consequence..The way that the brother tries to also become a super hero & reinvents himself each episode is exciting & interesting within itself. They will not get caught up in the controversy surrounding it because they won't see it as a trans gender show. They'll just see it as funny.. Great job to the writers on taking this risk although the negativity surrounding it is not warranted. Good luck on a successful venture...

The Cheeky Cartoon just got my Interest

If it was not for the internet for me to be able to watch this, I will never able to mention a good cartoon that has a place in my heart.

Although obviously there's always be flaws, I really can't find myself getting bored watching it in every episode. Each indeed have a life lesson for kids to learn, while teenagers can see deeper meanings. It's also funny and amusing for me at the same time to see Guy as Shezow trying to fight evil while "being a girl" for a bit so he/she won't be suspicious in the public.

The beginning episodes works out like "testers" if you really going to like the show. It's where "she-puns" go rampant and may annoy you. If you passed, then be happy as they die down a bit. Actually, I was hoping if the creator would reduce this in second installment but it already did in this cartoon. As a plus, the she-puns were timed and gives oomph to the mood of the show.

Well, I have nothing to say here other than the she-puns. Guy's "girl voice" may irritate you but you may get used to it, and I think it's done on purpose. Some complain about the lengthy opening theme but really it doesn't. Anime shows in Japan also have the same length of theme songs on average.

So what can I say to this? I don't like it, but I love it! I just can't get enough of Shezow.

12 year old Guy Hamdon inadvertently takes on the mantle of the superhero Shezow, a previously female role.

I enjoy Shezow immensely! It starts off pretty slow and full of puns, so if that's not your thing, take heart that it eases up a little as it goes on. I really enjoy how Guy grows as a person through becoming Shezow, and I think this is a really important thing to have on-air. For me, the core of Shezow is the ability to find personal power through stereotypically feminine things, no matter your gender. The way that this show ends up handling that is wonderful. Where some other shows might stray down the path of being preachy, Shezow lets viewers grow as Guy does. His breaking out of rigidly masculine socialization feels natural, rather than forced for effect. It lends an air of freedom of personal expression to the show, and is something I am SO grateful to see on television.

In addition to all that, the show is hysterical! Pun-heavy humor calms down after the first few episodes as a better sense of Guy and his friends, family, and hometown develops. There are some colorful characters, especially the array of villains Shezow encounters. This may feel a little contrived in that it pokes fun at the over-the-top superhero genre, but there are also genuinely funny lines and interactions that shine in my memory. The amount of fun the show has with itself comes across clearly to viewers, and the result is a super delightful cartoon.
