The anime is quite wholesome. A bachalor tries to be a parent and raise a kid like his own. Showing kindness, learning to be a father......Daikichi really tries his best to be the perfect father to Rin. To be honest....quite wholesome and refreshing.
But if any of u are searching for the manga ending and curiosity gets the better of u.... Please dont search the manga. Believe me it will not only ruin the whole vibe also your mood.
Just think of the wholesome ending you desing but not of the manga..... Dai san and Rin stays as father and daughter and happily live ever after.
Its quite sad they messed up the manga that much. Whatever, can't change it now.

A lot of anime series manages to catch the attention and interest of its viewers with elements in its setting or twists in its story that keeps them hooked or at least entertained and engaged in the events that unfold. Usagi Drop does the opposite, in that it is stripped back and simple with its setting and development. In its simplicity, it becomes even more captivating because a lot of the scenes that might seem mundane becomes quite relatable and true to life (this is a slice-of-life after all). The premise is of course, unique and unusual, but it is how the journey and relationship of the two characters, Kawachi Daikichi and Kaga Rin, develops, that speaks and relates well to its viewers on family relationships, and the complications and "drama" that comes along with it.
It is able to draw the better parts of childhood and the past filled with dumb things children like us used to do. The smaller things in life that gave us momentary happiness and made us feel bothered. Even some of the sacrifices that parents or adults used to make when their children are sick or otherwise in need, ones that might've been forgotten or dismissed as trivial, was captured really well by how it was told and portrayed by the characters.
Quaint and simple, but brimming with feelings, this show brings back a bit of that youthful joy and innocence that people once had that slowly faded away through time. Families at times can be difficult and complicated, but Usagi Drop also reminds us of how heartwarming it can be.

I thought this was a lovley show, so cute and heartwarming. It also bring up some more difficult topics related to anxiety and blood relations to your child. Furthermore it highlights that it is important for children to get a say in some decisions that adults make for them. It is different and yet so everyday, perfect slice of life anime.
If we ignore the manga ending then this series is my top 1 slice of life....nowadays slice of life = romance anime but the old slice of life are the best , this is one of them....this anime contains all the emotions you can feel. It is based upon the traditional old life of Japan fr houses to family gatherings ..since it's an old anime so I was a bit confused or hesitant whether should I watch this or not but I can gaurantee you this will give the break needed from your monotonous journey of isekai and action animes...Just dont search about this anime much because the internet contains a lot spoiler .....definitely you should watch it and also the movie adaptation.
I can watch rin grow up as much as possible she is just so cute and sweet I loved this show
