Let me start off by saying I love cheese acting/low budget movies. However, this TV show has the WORST acting I have ever seen. I have seen more realistic acting froma play my child was in in the 3rd grade. The story lines are so over the top, there is zero emotion, and they find the fakest actors you could possibly find. I love MTV Catfish but this show is an absolute trainwreck. It reminds me of the terrible acting on another garbage reality show duck dynasty. Do not waste your time or energy. I wanted to like this show, hell it might have the ability to be good. But I think MTV execs have realized, after teen mom and jersey shore, that they can basically film anything and people will watch it.
In the time of if humans do it we'll film it I suspect we're getting near to the bottom of the 'reality' show barrel now if this is anything to go by.
In fairness the first series wasn't dreadful but that might just be novelty value. But it was watchable.
The second series is woeful and I think that the presenters know it's struggling. (It's coming to something when what I'm really interested in is what Rahne is wearing because the clothes always look great however, I digress.) I'm beginning to wonder if some of the 'hidden' are just using the series to raise awareness of their job/art/ whatever. Others come across as actors looking to find work. There's an awful temptation to take mental bets on what the 'secret' is about and sadly it's now far too obvious. The 'reveals' are not very revealing because they are telegraphed all the way through.
The series is an offshoot from 'Catfish' which despite its longevity keeps going crossed with a series about 'Ghosting'.
It's a shame it's become so dull to watch but perhaps it's because the premise is actually too serious or intimate for such a lightweight program.
Sometimes the trick is to know when to call it quits.
I hope the presenters get something of a much better calibre to present on MTV because they deserve a good show to front.
If you're really bored and there's genuinely nothing else to watch give it a go...Series 1 but 2. No....

I don't usually write reviews but the acting on this show is terrible. I have watched all of the episodes of Catfish and thought this might be decent; I was wrong. After the first two episodes of this, I was done. The secrets were wack and the people on the show aside from the hosts are painful to watch, especially the second episode. Just awful. I don't know where they found these folks but they were clearly desperate to be on television. I can't even have this on in the background while I do other things since the lack of sincerity is distracting. I'm only continuing to write since I keep getting an error that this review is too short and this is honestly more time and effort than what this show deserves.
I saw this show advertised during the premiere of Catfish, which I love. I had no idea this was the second season! I started from episode 1. I didn't take long for me to pick up on the fact that these were "actors". The emotions are obvi fake and they aren't responding like they would in the real world. Im not going to continue watching because the fake acting is just bleh. Sorry MTV. This ain't it. Come on, a dude is working as a paid cuddler then reveals he didn't tell the truth because he is broke? Pshhhh. I mean, when people are angry the exchange in dialogue will not go that smoothly. Puhleeze.
The very first GLARING fact is that all of the participants on the show are trying to plug their business, podcast, music, acting, dancing, influencing or some other skill to get their 15 minutes of fame and that's the REAL reason they're doing the show. Keep in mind, these are not "actors". They're just regular people looking for a miniscule piece of fame. Some of the reasons for hiding the person are downright laughable and completely unbelievable. The hosts don't really fit well together and are a odd match up. I noticed that during some of the confrontations and interviews Travis will be talking but constantly looking away at Rahne like he needs help.
The show catfish is no better or different. That show has been on for how many seasons and people are still being catfished? Yeah ok, all of these shows are just mindless entertainment and none are better than the other.
The quality and creativity of the new "reality" TV shows reflects the fact that the masses appear to be growing tired of "reality" TV.
