This arc is one of the most powerful pieces of television this decade, perhaps even beyond.

They really did it. The expectations were high and they absolutely surpassed them. Everything culminates in ways so beautiful it's just difficult for me to even describe, I'm truly at a loss for words. The things this show are delving into headfirst are very potent and very real and you can feel the utter weight of all of that, truly. The journeys that we've seen these characters go on; the hardships, the love, the betrayal, all of it culminates here. I am so thankful that this show is something that exists, that it's able to reach such a wide audience and do so much. This show is an all-timer folks.

Nobody else knows how to write tension and payoff

This show is just unbelievably good writing-no one else knows how to write tension like this. I've watched Star Wars my whole life and desperately craved storytelling like this from it, and now we have it. Let Tony Gilroy cook!! The ability to weave payoff in the midst of so much tension, if I didn't know what characters are in later stories-I still don't know who is safe! And somehow I care about every single one of them. Cassian and Bix are the best romance in Star Wars at this point. Mon Mothma has already been revered for decades as the leader of the rebellion but to watch the cost take its toll on her for two seasons to lead to this episode.... It's just unbelievable how we have this masterpiece of cinema. Not just Star Wars; it's amazing sci-fi without all the decades of storytelling baggage. But because it's Star Wars, it's just... perfect. Exactly what we've desperately craved for years as Star Wars fans!

    Flabbergasted

Episode 9 of Andor Season 2 dives deep into the darkest corners of an Orwellian society.

The creators behind the Empire's conspiracy plotline have done their job with astonishing precision.

Manipulation. Propaganda. Division of society. Gradual descent into chaos. Half-truths. Espionage. Provocations. The exploitation of public sentiment to achieve calculated goals.

All these themes, explored across three episodes, are portrayed with surgical accuracy.

I sincerely hope that younger viewers, after watching the second season in its entirety, will begin to ask bold questions - about power, about how information is constructed and controlled. That they will discover the crucial role truth plays in their lives - and how much must be sacrificed to access it.

Highly recommended. Andor is not just a Star Wars story - it's a reflection of our world.

    Speechless at the speech

What a time to be a Star Wars fan.

This whole arc felt like Tony Gilroy saying "you know what, I've got one incredible shot at saying everything I ever believed in and I'm gonna do it in Star Wars." And oh boy, are we the better for it.

No, this is not escapism anymore, it's cold hard reality. And it tells the most pressing issues of our time with clarity and urgency. I cried a lot during my first watch and even harder during watch two of this arc.

To see my beliefs, concerns, fears and activism represented in my favourite galaxy feels incredibly special to me. Thank you to Tony and the team, to the cast, to Kathleen Kennedy for pushing this and all our most beloved stories.

    Fight the Empire.

    Perfect Story

It was very difficult for me to continue watching another episode in a row once Episode 8 ended, but Episode 9 manages to maintain the same masterful level of narrative, direction, emotion, and power, with high-quality, human characters that manage to make you feel for them.

For the first time in two episodes, we left the Daedra and Cyril storyline, and probably rightly so with the tremendous climax we got for it in Episode 8. Episode 9 continues to deal with what happened after the Gorman massacre, and brings together some of the most beloved characters in the rebellion, while removing other characters from the plot who don't arrive until then.

The execution is phenomenal as usual, and this is the strongest arc of the season so far, maybe even of the entire series. Andor continues to establish itself as one of the best, highest-quality, most exciting, and smartest series to ever hit the screen.

    • Trivia
The imperial senate scenes were shot largely on location at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) in Valencia, Spain. Previously, this site was already prominently featured in season three of Westworld (2016) as the DELOS headquarters.
    • Goofs
At around 33:48, at the bottom of the screen, you can see the ISB spy, who Andor had just killed, blink.
    • Quotes

Mon Mothma: Fellow senators, friends, colleagues, allies, adversaries - I stand before you this morning with a heavy heart. I've spent my life in this Chamber. I came here as a child. And as I look around me now, I realize I have almost no memories that pre-date my arrival, and few bonds of affection that cleave so tightly. Through these many years, I believe I have served my constituents honorably, and upheld our code of conduct. This Chamber is a cauldron of opinions. And we've certainly all had our patience and tempers tested in pursuit of our ideals. Disagree as we might, I am hopeful that those of you who know me will vouch for my credibility in the days to come. I stand this morning with a difficult message. I believe we are in crisis. The distance between what is said, and what is known to be true, has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands - we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest. This Chamber's hold on the truth was finally lost on the Ghorman Plaza. What took place yesterday - what happened yesterday on Ghorman - was unprovoked genocide. Yes! Genocide! And that truth has been exiled from this Chamber! And the monster screaming the loudest? The monster we've helped create? The monster who will come for us all soon enough - is Emperor Palpatine!
