Ok I'm half cut but I enjoyed this.
It's a lot better than some of the big budget
Hollywood horror crap. Go into it not expecting much and you might be surprised. The acting wasn't half bad either.
-1 Star For the endless natural gas sequence This movie did answer the question of when does a childish joke go on too long.
-1 Star for the very next sequence....really? about the food? Please.
-1 Star for even saying 'What's the Worst That can Happen?' after what has already happened
Why don't we just make a stand??? Like in Zulu???
Okay am I going to make it to the end of this one??? It's pretty bad.
Okay WOW I made it. This was just a horrible misstep of a film. It didn't connect with horror or comedy really.
One to skip.

.... a strong contender. Four really unlikeable dudes wander round the moors farting and calling each other names whilst being hunted by a big cat. I was rooting for the cat TBH.
The humour is rather British and appeals to us. It's not a horror but a horror comedy.
American humour is flatter than a pancake, go suck up to modern family or some other poor American excuse of humour if this doesn't work for you.
I admit, from the offset, that I love a good creature feature, and the fact that I grew up in the area where this was filmed, around Meldon Old Quarry and Reservoir, and northern Dartmoor, may have coloured my opinion.
The scenery is good and the cinematography is pretty good too, for an indie flick, and would put some larger budget films to shame.
The cast are not particularly likeable, especially one that is outright nasty, which tends to lead to you rooting for the Dartmoor Beast - which is a real legend around here, by the way. The banter between them is pretty funny at times, and adds comedy to the film.
The beast is too unseen in this movie, and it would have been better to have featured it more. I suspect that cost featured in this decision, but it could have been much scarier, whilst still being funny, along the lines of An American Werewolf in London.
Overall, I quite enjoyed it. It is not comedic gold, nor is it a horror masterpiece, but it is certainly worth a watch.

When Pete is giving Spencer his idea for the wedding speech, the rolled cigarette behind his left ear changes angle / position several times. In one particular scene where Pete brings his head down close to Spencer's, it seems to momentarily disappear altogether.
