I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of Heavyweight at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival in London.
As a lover of good story, captivating character arcs and visual storytelling, Heavyweight delivered on them all. Written and Directed by Christopher Anthony, you can clearly see his years of experience in the industry has been put to good use with this passion project, that battles with the huge weights of Mental Health, human emotion and just pure adrenaline. The entire story is set in one location more aless, so I was pleasantly surprised that I was so interested, attentive and as they say "on the edge of my seat" for the entirety of the film.
This was of course backed up by incredible performances by some already established actors, as well as up and coming ones too. Personally, Jordan Bolger and Rob Malone's performances were a huge standout when it came to making the audience feel emotion towards their character's.
Overall, a solid feature film debut from Mr Anthony, backed by strong performances, a thrilling storyline and a great score.
