This is possibly the least funny comedy I've seen, ever. Romesh couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, I don't know why production companies keep giving him airtime (especially after Reluctant Landlord). He just stands around looking clueless for the majority of the show. The storyline is a series of idiotic choices that no sane (or insane) person would ever make. Worst of all they've managed to make Johnny Vegas unfunny. Not one character was in any way believable. This could have been good, the basic concept wasn't too bad, shame the acting was so poor with zero chemistry between the couple who wanted a family. They feel more like siblings who fell out a long time ago, not lovers who are desperate for children. Utter dross.
This is a proper old-fashioned laugh out loud comedy caper.
The plot is a simple one: a guy called Deacon decides to steal some money from his horrible boss to pay for IVF. Deacon has never even stolen a paper clip before so clearly this plan hasn't been well thought out!
Each solution Deacon comes up with to resolve the problems his previous ideas have caused obviously make things ten times worse - each consequence, ten times funnier.
I've always found Katharine Ryan funny but I can't say I've ever rated Romesh Ranganathan before but as a result of watching this, which he co-wrote, I reckon he is clearly a comedy genius. Also, Johnny Vegas would not usually be on my list of people I'd go out of my way to see on my tv but with such a well written role like this he's brilliant. Absurdly over the top, loud, foul-mouthed and vulgar but totally hilarious.
It's presented in six half hour episodes but since each one ends on a cliffhanger, I dare you not to be able to watch them all in one go.

Normally Romesh is pretty decent but this feels like someone asked him to write a tv show in 5 minutes and this is the result.
It's simply just not funny, not once did I laugh.
Romesh's acting couldn't be more wooden if he tried. It's like he has no ideas what the words are and he has to read of a script taped to the floor.
And Katherine Ryan? Well she is absolutely God awful. She's not funny at the best of times, but here she is again shouting her way through the script whilst trying to be as agressive and bossy as possible. Absolutely the worst choice to play Romesh's wife. She gives zero chemistry to the role. A potato would have been a better choice.
Hopefully this show is cancelled because I can't think of any sane person that would want to watch a 2nd season of this tripe.

I really enjoyed this, acting was good, script was well written. Don't mind the haters, this is worth a watch, looking forward to next season, nice finish leaves it hanging.
Really nice to see so many class comedians in this type of production. Romesh, Katherine, Johnny and supporting comedians and cast all were brilliant in their roles. The pace was fast it didn't stall, it's hard to find fault with this kind and style of production and the way it was delivered. I am not someone who provides reviews, this would be my first, I checked on IMDb to see if there was a second season and thought it was important to provide a balanced view given the small handful of initial negative responses that truly are unfounded. Credit to the cast and production team this delivers.

I loved this, it was a modern day farce. Good one liners Kathrine and Romesh are so great.
I do feel something was missing not sure what.
But it was fun like an English fun with Dick and Jane.
I love that Kathryn was the smart quick and Romesh the absolute mess.
The end was ok. But could of given it a bit more I think.
But I would watch it again without a second thought Jonny Vegas was too funny.
Saying that though, I would of loved a bit more, needed a bit more like nuns on the run. It needed to be filled out a bit.
More tension I think. Romesh is a promising writer
Really loved it though. Give it a chance.
