    Pleasant Singing Comedy

Warren Hull and Jane Pickens want to get married, but Jane's father, Solly Ward can't afford a big wedding, so he and business partner -- and Hull's father -- Hugh Cameron pretend to quarrel. This forces the youngsters to elope. However, Ward and Cameron are supposed to chase them.

Miss Pickens and her two sisters made up a close harmony singing trio, so they sing several songs in a variety of styles. Hull sings also. I don't care for the style of singing, but the second half of the movie, in which the two older men pretend to quarrel and try to catch up to the youngsters unsuccessfully is handled very amusingly under the direction of seasoned comedy director William Watson.

Solly, Jane's Father: You're telling me!

Dick's Father: And my boy Dick isn't bad, either.

Solly, Jane's Father: Aw, stop bragging.
