Class K are back for a reunion, Alfie's got a new top knot, and a new headteacher, Bernadette Hoburn, running the school.
Back to celebrate the show's ten year anniversary, I was interested to see how they were going to do it, obviously they could bring Alfie and Rosie back, but the others....
I liked the way they got many of the old faces back at Abbey Grove, Stephen, Fraser, Grayson, Rem Dogg, Mitchell and Joe, fair play most of the originals returned.
I can see by the ratings that it hasn't gone down incredibly well with viewers, I actually liked it, I thought it was quite funny, nice to see something on The BBC which was a little more.....daring, and not afraid to go dark.
Did Stephen drop a joke about Hollyoaks for the benefit of Charlie Wernham?
If only they could have got Michelle Gomez to return, really wanted to see Pickwell. Hoburn seems to be something of a replacement for her, and there's no denying that Pepperdine has comedy pedigree, maybe just needs more cutting lines.
Whitehall was funny, and is it me, or had he not aged a day.
7/10.

I quite liked Bad Education back in the day so thought I would enjoy this reunion. I was very wrong. I am actually baffled by the low quality of writing, acting, everything. It's not even anything like the same show. SO bad, so so so cringey and not a single funny moment for me in the entire 45 min. I didn't laugh or even smile once, I was grimacing and cringing throughout. The acting in particular was actually so weirdly below par it was seriously off-putting, like watching a GCSE drama piece.
There's just nothing to it at all, it's completely pointless, stupid story, doesn't make sense, extremely annoying. I don't really like the inappropriate teacher type jokes in general, I just find them weird, uncomfortable and not funny at all. I think Bad Education hasn't aged well in general and certainly didn't need this reunion.

The world's unfunniest comedy, gets a reunion show...... of course no one saw that coming, as it's the World's unfunniest comedy.....The BBC have used all our money, yeah we have to pay for this trash, to continue this abysmal comedy that no-one liked for reasons best known to themselves..... And there's a new series next year....seariously, I knew the BBC were out of touch with reality or with what real humans think, but obviously the liberal left minority at the BBC had deemed this as acceptable comedy, what is wrong with these people... The channel that gave us Fawlty Towers, The Office, Only Fools and Horses and Alan Partrige.... have deeped this rubbish acceptable...and they wonder why people want to get rid of the TV licence?.....sheesh, utter rubbish. Only watch if you like rubbish.
I love Bad Education, so was excited to suddenly see a new episode.
When I started to watch this - I had one of those moments, when you feel like, hangon, I recognise the people - but the lines are all off, have they got rid of the writer.
A bit like watching Tony Hancock when he thought he was too good for the writers of Hancocks Half Hour, and ended up killing himself while making some dreary 'comedy' in Australia.
You recognise the faces, the mannerisms are all there - but absolutely not a single one of the lines rings as funny.
Then I googled it, and find that Alfie is one of the writers, so how can it possibly be this cringey.
You forgive the kids having grown up, and no longer able to play quite the little teen horrors that they once were - but even the adults dont seem to be able to get it together.
Mathew Horne seems to be able to stay on point. Replacing Pickwell with Bernadette Hobum who play the delightfully deranged Princess Anne in the Windsors looks possibly good on paper - but she's not as off the wall, or comedic as Michelle Gomez.
Jack Whitehall has done some brilliant brilliant things, and Bad Education series as a whole is fantastic (screw the reviewers who dont get it) - but the Reunion probably DOES deserve the comment from one of the tabloids which a reporter attributed to the entire series but I do just this one episode - that Jack White just phoned it in.
