        more than song for Eurovision

I heared this song many times, in different occasions and states of soul. And each time, I discovered new nuances, sparkles defining it.

Propaganda ? Indeed and, in the context of Russian intervention, not so surprising.

Eulogy for mother ? Absolutelly ! And this fact is one of essential virtues of it.

Way to use a tragedy for seduce the attention of public and critics ? No doubts !

But the use of folklore, the images, the message of son to his mother, the veil of lullaby , all is smart crafted, detail by detail.

It is more than a simple song for Eurovision but a courageous self definition of Ukraine across the time. And it just works in surprising good way.

"I once dedicated this song to my mother, and when the war broke out, the song took on a lot of new meanings. Although there is not a word about the war in the song, many people began to associate the song with mother Ukraine." (Oleh Psiuk, Kalush Orchestra frontman)
