Drew Barrymore has directed a video for the band Best Coast as a ten-minute film, which bears a suspicious resemblance to "West Side Story". Whether it's a rip-off or a homage, judge for yourself. The roles of lovers from warring gangs are entrusted to Chloë Grace Moretz and the star of "Teen Wolf" Tyler Posey. The song is quite good, the video beautifully shot, but the story is an unoriginal pathetic cliché.

I never saw this when it originally came out, however I feel like I just opened a time capsule, or jumped back in time. This has a good all star teen cast - Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl from Kick-Ass), Shailine Woodley (from The Descendants), Tyler Posey (from Teen Wolf) Donald Glover (from Community), Miranda Cosgrove (from iCarly) and more. It makes sense that all of these stars were bunched together since they were all in their teen prime. It's great to see the main stars still relevant and maintaining their star powers.
I read that this was part of a "Supervideo" project - Supervideos was an MTV idea, low-budget, narrative music video designed to be pair big film talent with indie-superstar artists.
The story line is an obvious reference to Romeo and Juliet meets West Side Story. Everyone seems to be having fun, but with it being a low-budget project, I felt as though no one was truly expanding themselves. I wonder what could have been if it was directed by someone with a bigger budget and maybe a more cohesive storyline.
