Chris Pratt‘s upcoming sci-fi mystery thriller, Mercy, has been pushed from its August 2025 release date to January 2026, as per Deadline. The Amazon MGM Studios film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and is based on a screenplay by Marco van Belle.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Teller will feature in the updated version of An Officer and a Gentleman, the acclaimed 1982 movie starring Richard Gere and the late Louis Gossett Jr. Though there's no word yet on whom the remake's director will be, Dana Fox, known for writing romantic comedies such as 27 Dresses and The Wedding Date, wrote the most recent screenplay draft, updating the original draft by Matt Johnson. Following X-Men '97's season 1 finale, What If...? season 3 is likely up next from Marvel Animation. Marvel Zombies updates have been few and far between, but Marvel Studios executive Brad Winderbaum has shared new Eyes of Wakanda and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man details.

The latter was unveiled during the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, while news of the Black Panther spin-off came our way last December. 

We've previously heard that the animated series will follow brave warriors tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous Vibranium artefacts throughout Wakandan history. Thanks to ComicBook.com (via Toonado.com), we now have some specifics. 

"Eyes of Wakanda is an MCU show," Winderbaum confirmed. "This is the history of Wakanda as told through the War Dogs, and it is some of the best animation we've ever done. Todd Harris is the creator of that one. That's just such a cool show."

In recent times, there have been rumors that the MCU will deal more with animated projects in the future, and considering that we have several shows slated for release in the future, it’s honestly not that hard to believe them.

‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ and ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ are both slated for 2024 release (so far) and Brad Winderbaum Head of Animation for Marvel Studios sat down with ComicBook to talk some details about both shows.

It has been reported that Jeff Pierre, known for crime drama Walker and 2016s War Dogs, is the latest actor to join the roster of upcoming sci-fi thriller feature Mercy. According to Deadline, Pierre will be starring alongside leads Chris Pratt, of Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World fame, and Rebecca Ferguson, known for her roles in The Greatest Showman and Dune: Part Two. Mercy will be directed by Russian-Kazakh filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov. The film is written by Marco van Belle, known for Arthur & Merlin.

War Dogs explores the ethics of arms dealing and government contracts, based on the true story of David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli. The movie takes creative liberties but stays true to the backstories and motivations of the characters, depicting their arms dealings with the US government. David Packouz received a more lenient sentence due to his cooperation with authorities, while Efraim Diveroli served time in federal prison.

War Dogs follows two low-level arms dealers, David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, who won a $300 million contract from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan, yet the movie doesn't go into detail about what happened to the pair after film ends. The 2016 crime comedy explored the ethics of weapons manufacturing and profiting off war. It was directed by Todd Phillips, known for The Hangover and Joker, and stars Jonah Hill and Miles Teller. May is comedy month on Netflix and to coincide...

As summer approaches (for the Northern Hemisphere at least), Netflix is set to premiere a fresh season of one of its biggest hits.

Brigerton season 3 is set to arrive on May 16 and will debut a “new crop of debutantes” into the regency drama fray. Other original series of note this month include Indian drama Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (May 1), the Jeff Daniels-starring A Man in Full (May 2), and intriguing Korean title The 8 Show (May 17). Of course, Netflix is also rolling out a suite of true crime docs and docuseries as well. Chief among those options is Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal on May 15.

It’s the movie side of things where Netflix is feeling particularly lively though. May 3 sees the arrival of Jerry Seinfeld Pop Tart comedy Unfrosted. That will be followed by rom-com Mother of the Bride (May 9) and the Jennifer Lopez-starring Atlas (May 24).
