Just first and second season are amazing 10/10
This series worked in two Season only, but they exploited it commercially in the rest of the parts without a story or content and with the death and revival of characters and introduction of trivial and absurd scenes , I advise only the first and second seasons only not other at all

The show is great overall especially the first 3 seasons. Their are some critics of the later seasons but the show is fun and intresting overall
This show has received unfair ratings over its portal of women even though their are many strong female characters. But for some people if their is strong men in the show they get upset. Most bad reviews have unfair or out right false accusations. This show has good characters acting is wonderfully fill with stars from the syrian drama and comedy. Bab al hara is a great show with some faults like every thing else but overall it is great television series an arab classic.
Yes, It's the best series of all time, season 1 and season 2, the original, the non-commercial are a must watch.
Genius character writing and performing, excellent story and execution, memorable music, it has everything it needs.

Overall the show is concerning in it's depiction of women and never even utilized the plot to highlight that the treatment of women at the time was something horrible and immoral. Instead it glorifies toxic male behavior and writes it's female characters as weak and unrealistic.

One of the most popular Arabic series taking place in the old Damascus during the French colonialism period. Beautiful and catchy script, superb execution and lots and lots of funny moments. It has everything: the beautiful old days and its melancholia, drama, action and plenty of twists to keep you wanting to see more and more. But above all, most importantly it keeps the spirit of old Syria (including old disappearing traditions and way of life) alive though these dark moments of the sad reality. I would love to see the next series (their status is under production) but given the current issues with Syria it's hard to expect anything to become reality. If you miss Syria, if you want to remember vividly the old and beautiful times, if you want to feel just a little bit how it would have been to live during your grandfather's time, go for it. You will not regret.
