This Irish ghost story is somewhat of a bore, 85 minutes of very little actual activity and barely even any dialogue.
A lone construction worker ventures into an abandoned derelict care home to seal it up and prevent vandalism but discovers ghostly happenings within.
Trouble is very little happens and when it does it's done frantically and incompetently.
Saying that the film was made for a declared budget of little of £100 and that's outstanding! Regardless it is what it is and it is........a bit of a bust.
The Good:
Well made considering the budget
The Bad:
The "Encounter" moments are noisy, shaky cam, overly long messes
Recycled sound effects
Too many "Filler" scenes
So criminally boring

I saw the cover and thought, "this looks pretty scary". I had never heard of this film but a friend asked about it, so I thought I'd give it a shot. From the start it was slow, boring and what acting you did see was horrendous; it only got worse from there. The "ghosts" were not in the least bi frightening. The jump out of your seat and scream, or "shock" scenes, literally made me laugh they were so poorly done. The cinematography was horrible, even jerky at times. I understand low budget, but compare it to "Insidious" or "Paranormal Activity" which were very low budget as well, this didn't make the cut, by far. This "film" should never have made it to the theaters let alone brought to video. 1 star is way to generous for this"movie".
Not a bad movie, it would have improved immensely if they lopped off about 45 to 60 minutes of its running time. Genuine creepiness with some jump out of your seat scares. Not quite a "found recording" movie (e.g. The Blair Witch Project), but in the same very low budget category.
Some good scary moments but ultimately slow and predictable. Not good even allowing for limited budget.
A nice little ghost story. I can understand the bad reviews here and elsewhere, after all the American viewing audience has been reduced to the level of a twelve year old. If it's not a Marvel extravaganza Blockbuster, or another re-hash of Lucas's 40 year old trilogy , it's just not worth watching. Right? First it is not a American production so don't expect it to be a roller-coaster ride of thrills and effects, second it's low budget again don't expect it to be a roller-coaster ride of thrills and effects, and thirdly the people depicted are not Americans so don't expect them to act, talk or look like they are. The story telling is quite good, the atmosphere is quite good, the acting is quite good over all. If you're a fan of horror from Ireland, Scotland or Wales then you'll probably enjoy it, if you're not then you wont.

- TriviaDirector George Clarke spent 3 different nights in the old mansion with a paranormal team and psychic lading up to the shoot. Everything that happens in the film, but one ghost, was based on those experiences, sightings and sounds during the visits.
