Somewhere, somehow if you a vivid horror fan you'll agree that, this is indeed, a copy from here and there. Malaysian horror need originality, a good backstory, lores and yes a reason for even a short jumpscare. Syamsul yusof or any yusof is also the same, producing this kind of genre. Yup, copy genre theres no originality. Indonesian's is way better off in term of this, don't get me wrong, imma Malaysian myself. Showcasing what Malaysian do or practice is also missing in our director minds. Im waiting and still believe one day a guy (or a woman) fork out one good Malaysian horror flick. Until then, Selamat Maju Jaya guys.
As a viewer who stumbled upon this film on Netflix, I approached it with moderate expectations. The initial half-hour sets a promising tone with its fast-paced and engaging narrative, but unfortunately, the momentum gradually dissipates as the story progresses.
Visually, the film offers a refreshing departure from the typical Malaysian horror fare, with its higher production quality and occasional creative CGI. However, there are moments when the CGI feels overly indulgent, detracting from the overall experience.
The Netflix-like vibe, reminiscent of popular series such as Stranger Things, adds a contemporary appeal, and the characters are generally well-crafted, with understandable motives. Special mention goes to the actor who portrayed the intentionally annoying character convincingly.
Despite these strengths, the film ultimately falls short due to its lackluster ending. It left me with a sense of dissatisfaction, failing to deliver a resolution that matches the promising setup.

The film is stylisticly shot and the vfx are not bad. Appreciate the artistic effort undertaken along with well paced music. The story keeps one curious, but not enough to fully explain the reasons why its happening. The character growth of the protaganist seems too sudden and for the entity she is facing, somehow overcomes it rather quickly. The atmosphere and intensity of the end battle were nicely done but wish it lasted longer. Overall its a good watch and hope if there is a squeal more insights and development can be given to the puppeteer (lady giving the book) and the connection to the external forces.
Decided to give this movie a try, I wasn't expecting much as most malaysian horror flicks tends to disappoint most of time but this movie was actually not bad! Solid storyline, and, even though there are not many ghosts scare but it still radiates the horror ambiance.
However, it could have been better as there are many elements that I have seen before from horror movies being implemented in this movie for example like the music being played from the old music player, and few scenes replicating a recent famous horror movie.
I still would like to give this movie a 7 because of the storyline, and kudos to the actors & actresses for doing such a good job with their acting & to the whole team, of course!
