Sonic Origins

Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3 and Knuckles are still the best Sonic games. They were made in the early 1990's. Sonic started to go downhill with 3D Blast and later 3D games. The camera is always an issue with 3D Sonic games.

Sonic CD is probably my favorite Sonic game, the levels and music are amazing. I've played later Sonic games and none are as good as the earliest ones. Sonic 4 and Sonic Generations are 2D and good games, but still not as great as the earliest games.

I heard Sonic Mania is a good game and it's 2D, but I've never played it. I would highly recommend Sonic Origins since it collects the earliest Sonic games and they are still the best in the series.

Love all the games included, these are a huge part of my teenage years, and I loved the opportunity to play them all again without resorting to emulators. I do have some issues though.

Firstly, the lack of polish on the presentation is questionable, there's so much more that I would have loved to have seen, like unlockable 8-bit games, some more game modes, comics, something like that. Secondly, Sega's tiered DLC system is deeply flawed and means you end up paying extra for the game and not getting anything that was truly worth it. Thirdly, and this is the big one, the missing music from Sonic 3 is a massive loss to the overall package. I'm well aware that it was due to copyright issues, but the beta versions of the music that was used instead is just not even close to the same level. I'm sure Sega could have resolved this somehow if they really wanted to.

It's a shame, because I love the cutscenes added, and for the games themselves, Origins almost deserves a 10, if only Sega had put a bit more love into it.

We were convinced that Sonic Origins was just a collection of classic games. But it turned out to be full-fledged remasters: widescreen support, updated visuals, new modes, and animated cutscenes - with intro and ending animations for every game, the collection feels polished and cohesive.

The remasters now offer several ways to play. Classic Mode keeps the original 4:3 aspect ratio and the traditional life system, but that's hardly why you'd buy this collection - after all, the classic Sonic titles have been re-released countless times. Far more exciting is Anniversary Mode, which features widescreen gameplay, no Game Over screens, and collectible Coins that can be spent on extra chances in Special Stages or used to unlock artwork and music in the museum. There's also a Mission Mode with short challenges, and Mirror Mode, where you run through the levels from right to left, making even the most familiar zones feel completely new.

All in one package: Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD, plus bonus content like galleries and remixed music. If you're looking for the best way to experience classic Sonic today, Sonic Origins is the way to go.

Sega finally understands how to rerelease the classic games! Perfect cutscenes Great box art but i Don't know why this sonic origins they never explain Sonic's origins or any other characters but who cares so give Sonic origins a spin.

I really enjoyed Sonic Origins and way easier to play the classic games and enjoyed it on the go in the Nintendo Switch that is the mobile apps are pretty boring the Mega Collection and Gems Collection are alright but not good enough. But Sonic Origins didn't feel bored at all it's just excited way to play I finished all 4 classic games and story mode was really clever now I know about Sonic CD taking place before Sonic 2 and how Sonic meet tails after Sonic CD and Coins are really clever to use once you lose the special stage you can start over and try again and the best of all you don't have to worry about lives anymore you can enjoy it with infinite lives and complete all 4 classic games. YESSSS YESSSS INFINITE YESSS. But the only problem I have is the Classic mode is just boring. But besides all that I say this game is worth it for adding new elements, Museums are great to visiting, and it was one of the best compilation game I've ever played.
