    An impressive continuation.

The robbers have realised that they have a huge amount of gold to get rid of, and that all eyes will be on the lookout for suspicious transactions, they sensibly get rid of it in dribs and drabs, and in small amounts.

I loved the vibe they've created, they've not just visually caught the era, but that whole vibe of Thatchers Britain is perfectly captured, greed, greed and more greed.

The journey of the gold is such an interesting one, the web of the plot is fascinating, each of the characters is so rich, and plays a real part.

I really liked Jennings character and storyline, she's coming over as the strongest of The Detectives so far, she's great. So far, I'm really impressed by each of the villains.

    Hooked, 8/10.

There's Something Going on in Kent

Having been around in 1983, I don't get the vibe of that period. The vernacular is more modern sounding. Someone even mentions the term Peaky Blinder.

The baddies need to get rid off the gold. Some of them have made plans about spending the money already.

It's all about smelting the gold, getting rid of serial numbers and laundering the money.

It is the police who finds an expert who explains it to them in detail. How the gold is going to be turned into cash and recycled as legitimate. Frankly the latter part was the only interesting element of the second episode.

Given that some of the villains were real nasty pieces of work. Here the people are bland and dull. Very much like the series so far.

    Good stuff

Am enjoying this so far, although each episode is fast paced enough to make me wonder if they will really need 12 episodes to tell the story. I think they've managed to strike a good balance here between fact and good drama - portraying villainous characters that you know were very nasty pieces of work in real life as ambitious, flawed and sometimes charming people. People you almost want to root for, but not quite. Perhaps because the coppers are so likeable. It's quite compelling to watch. Regarding other poster's comment about modern vernacular - Peaky Blinders were a gang from the 19th Century, not exactly modern.
