Sadda Adda (2012)
'The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you" People have dreams, but not all of us have the guts to put faith in ourselves. Most of us lose focus and give up. We are most afraid to believe in our own dreams. Those who do are the true winners. This slice of life film is set in the backdrop of our capital city- Delhi. A city that brings in thousands of North Indians in search of opportunities that was never available in their own home towns. Like-wise, six boys from different states come together to share a two BHK apartment in a middle-class colony, which they lovingly call "Sadda Adda". This film is their story. It is about how six bachelors, with completely different backgrounds and personalities, live together. Their apartment "Sadda Adda" is a complete mess with empty beer bottles, cigarette butts, unwashed clothes, mattresses tossed all over the floor etc - yet together they cook food, clean, buy groceries, pay rent, laugh, cry, fight over insignificant issues and always stand up for each other - like a family. "Sadda Adda" which began as a transitional accommodation to help them work towards their dreams, becomes their home. The film takes us through a journey of their camaraderie and self-belief. The interwoven stories of these 6 characters takes us through a heart warming journey of the lives of these boys. This movie is about real characters from life who have fun, who fight the wave everyday and through very light heart moments inspire us in the most modest way. The crests and troughs that shape them into the men they will become in the future - because Boys will not always be boys. Written by Muazzam Beg

Worth a watch.. needs word of mouth...

well i generally don't write reviews... but after seeing this movie.. i thought that i just have to write one and tell everyone that its a movie worth a watch... it all about wanting something in life... falling.. and then getting up and fulfilling you dreams... like the saying.. the only thing that can stop you from achieving your dreams is YOU....

the story revolves around 6 bachelor buddies, with completely different back grounds and dreams, living in one apartment and their journey to their dreams...

i would suggest its a very good watch when you want to watch a decent movie with good does of laughter...

Starts off too late but shines towards the end.

As an indicative review, SADDA ADDAcan be referred to that fairly decent racing bike which unfortunately starts off very late after the gun goes off, almost when the other bikers have completed their rounds. So despite of having a good horse power, it loses the race due to its technical malfunction and a first time rider.

The biggest negative factor which restricts SADDA ADDA to grow on the viewer remains its highly inspired and similar settings to the last year surprise hit PYAAR KA PUNCHNAAMA. It starts off in the same manner telling the story about a group of bachelors living in a messy apartment, struggling to make it big in their own respective fields.

Throughout its first hour, it simply looks like a hushed up project made after the instant success of PKP, taking almost everything from the 2011 HIT. The characters seem to be repeating themselves and even the actors look like doing everything on the screen with PKP in their mind. So, till an unexpected tragic turn comes right before the interval, SADDA ADDA is not able to impress at all with only its few well-written sequences placed unevenly.

Actually the bike gets started post-interval and then sadly reaches a competitive speed just before the climax. As a result, one slightly feels good only after watching the final 30 minutes of the film and then walks away. In fact, after the last week's CHAALIS CHAURAASI here is another movie (desperately in need of a harsh re-editing) which can easily be seen by fast forwarding its first hour without missing anything important.

With a routine cinematography, it doesn't have any great performances too and the boys actually succeed to make an impact in their last 15 minutes only. However they are surely better than all the girls in the film. The individual stories talking about their love and professional life are realistic but also predictable, handled with an ordinary vision. Musically it has a fine track "Sarphira Hai" and the title song which deserved to be promoted well to get some more people in the theater.

But despite of all these drawbacks, there still is one thing which goes in favour of SADDA ADDA and that's the message it tries to give through its weak execution. It wishes to remind the youth their responsibilities towards themselves and their families which have to be fulfilled after getting proper academic and technical education. Its tries to warn them from the obstacles of the path which are there in the shape of Depression, Easy Money, Drugs and Corruption. And it very subtly tries to say that it doesn't matter how much money you earn in your life comparatively, but what matters is that Are you enjoying what you are doing professionally in your life or not?

So, where PYAR KA PUNCHNAAMA had nothing substantial to convey other than the Love Complications in the life of youth, SADDA ADDA has a pretty noble and important message to give to the young. But if only it also had the finesse and polishing of a well made film like PKP, it could have easily become another surprise Young Hit of 2012. But for now, it just remains a below average one time watch and that too only for those who wish to see each and every film made around the subject of youth as a must.

    Excellent

I just want to say that first time in my life I wanted a movie to be played on whole day. When it finished I clapped and hats off to the whole cast.Sadda Adda" is a complete mess with empty beer bottles, cigarette butts, unwashed clothes, mattresses tossed all over the floor etc - yet together they cook food, clean, buy groceries, pay rent, laugh, cry, fight over insignificant issues and always stand up for each other - like a family. If you love small budget movie which can inspire you or if you r in college and in fear about what your life will be in Future.... So please watch it!!! The producers might have released this movie with some promotions and awareness to people so then the movie might have been a hit...

An Inspirational and good movie, but under rated

I watched the movie online a couple of days back, and i must tell you this that i enjoyed and adored it throughout, despise the fact that it was debut means the actors where new.The script was good, songs were not that bad....but worth a watch.I don't know why the movie is not highly rated, the movie gives more than what your expecting from it. Unlike any other big budget movie but one of the best movie made with young debut actors. When i went to watch this movie i had no expectations about it, because the name is not SO catchy which would pull audience to the theater, neither no promotion campaign or ads on television. When i seen the movie i was thrilled since i had no expectations, i can relate this movie to my life. The last line quote is good for struggler's who often give up on their dreams
