La doc et le véto

This series combines the fish out of water story of a big city doctor working in the boondocks with the story of a veterinarian dealing with the locals and their animals. Sadly, the storylines are rather too serious for the setup. It creates a mismatch in tone that undercuts the entire show. Still, the scenery is wonderful and the acting pretty good. If only the writers had gone for more levity. We could use more lovable denizen of the rural town and less dire themes. Worth watching, but it could have been much better. I guess the writers did not want to tell the same old stories, but they went too far in taking the show far too seriously.
