The Solo Levelinganime series has just set a new record thanks to the Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Per a press release, the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards saw numerous winners over the course of the evening's event, but none more so than Solo Leveling, which set a new record by sweeping the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Out of 13 categories that Solo Leveling was nominated for in total, the hit anime ended up bringing home nine of them, including those for the coveted Best Action, Best New Series and, perhaps most importantly, Anime of the Year, despite steep competition from other franchises with far more award nominations. In fact, Solo Leveling was only the fifth-most nominated show of the evening, with Kaiju No. 8, Delicious in Dungeon, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Dandadan all up for more awards, and all including Anime of the Year. Fatman Scoop, the New York rapper who had a worldwide hit with “Be Faithful” and featured on singles by Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and Skrillex, has died at the age of 56.

The artist born Isaac Freeman III was transported to a hospital after suffering a medical emergency while onstage during an August 30 concert in Hamden, Connecticut. On Saturday morning, Freeman’s tour manager Bryan “DJ Pure Cold” Michael announced on social media that the rapper had died. No cause of death was provided.

“I am honestly lost for words,” Michael wrote.

Fatman Scoop, the rapper and hype man known for his appearances on tracks like Missy Elliott’s “Lose Control” and Mariah Carey’s “I Like That,” has died at the age of 53 after suffering a medical emergency on stage during a concert in Connecticut on Friday.

The Season 32 finale kicked off with an opening number that included this season’s couples performing on the dance floor. The eliminated stars — including Barry Williams, Lele Pons, Mauricio Umansky, Harry Jowsky, Mira Sorvino and more — danced to “Young Hearts Run Free” by Candi Staton alongside the five finalists.

Season 31 champions Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas also returned to the stage to perform a routine to “Give It to Me Baby” by Rick James.

During the finale, each pair danced twice — a redemption dance, redoing one of their routines from earlier in the season, and a freestyle.

Cartoon Network has revealed their 2013-2014 TV show lineup today and, much to the dismay of fans, confirmed that that “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” and “Young Justice” have been canceled. While this may not come as the biggest surprise for the “Young Justice” viewers who paid attention to both the series’ hiatus and subsequent cancellation of its comic book counterpart, the news certainly comes as a blow for fans. Together with the end of “Green Lantern: The Animated Series”, this leaves only “Beware the Batman” and “Teen Titans Go” as the remaining DC Nation shows, both of which have yet to premiere on the network.

While the absence of the shows didn’t necessarily cement the cancellation of the series, Giancarlo Volpe, the showrunner for “Green Lantern: Tas” confirmed the news via his Twitter stating, “This time we knew. They just didn’t want us to announce it publicly until they did.

America’s Cartoon Network has unveiled the new season line-up for the channel which is home to one of my favourite cartoons, Adventure Time. That show Is coming back for another season, the same of which can’t be said for Green Lantern or Young Justice – those two superhero shows have, at least according to the press release, been replaced by Teen Titans Go! and Beware the Batman. Also detailed in today’s press release is The Yoda Chronicles, which ties into the new Lego Star Wars releases.

Also returning are: Regular Show, Annoying Orange, Mad, The Amazing World of Gumball, The Looney Tunes Show, Ben 10 Omniverse, Dragons: Riders of Berk, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc., Johnny Test, Pokémon Black & White: Adventures in Unova, Beyblade Metal Fury, Almost Naked Animals and Scaredy Squirrel.

A Little Bit Zombie Release Date and Viral Video: We’ve been given some details for A Little Bit Zombie, which we’ve covered a number of times on the Indie Spotlight. A Canadian wide release date is set for May 18th (with several special midnight screenings on the 17th). The DVD will be sold in August by Anchor Bay Canada.

There will be Us release details in the new future. The movie will be released to DVD and there are plans for festival and limited theatrical screenings. At its upfront presentation today touting its upcoming slate, Cartoon Network announced two new series. The Nick Cannon Sketch Comedy Series is a live-action, half-hour, sketch comedy show featuring young comedy performers Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time), Brandon Soo Hoo (Enders Game, Tropic Thunder), Shameik Moore (Joyful Noise), Shauna Case (American Horror Story) and Chanelle Peloso (Level Up). Cannon is the creator and will executive produce with Michael Goldman and Scott Tomlinson. The Lego Project is a new series targeted for 2013, which follows the ratings success of the CG-animated Ninjago special.
