Coming home to a broken marriage and uncertain future, haunted war veteran Anthony Hayward (Marty Papazian) drinks to forget the pain, and finally reaches the end of his rope. Yet when his troubled ten year-old neighbor, Wade (Tristan Lake Leabu), suffers a tragedy and calls out for help, Anthony can't seem to turn away. To the dismay of the boy's embattled social worker (Laura San Giacomo), Anthony takes Wade under his wing and they set out on an ill-fated trip to find Wade's father, who may not even exist. As the two establish a fragile bond, Anthony must find the strength to face his demons, clean up his life, and become the man that Wade needs. One word comes to my mind when I think of George, the character that Charles S. Dutton plays in Martin Papazian’s, Least Among Saints: I think of the word "humble." I also think of the word "compassion." The film is about a young veteran, and his unfortunate, yet insightful journey back home. This past Monday, Shadow and Act spoke very briefly with Mr Dutton about the film, his thoughts on the displacement of veterans, and his upcoming...

Martin Papazian has been a working actor for nearly two decades, supporting a list of heavyweights in projects like Jarhead and 24. The two seemingly have nothing in common on the outside, but as the story unfolds and the lives of these two individuals are painted parallel to each other, the heart of the film is revealed. The war vet, who’s striving to...
