Alone Among Grizzlies

Yes, there is some great footage of the bears and the oddball little Swiss boy David Bittner, who learned nothing from the late Timothy Treadwell, but this is Alaska, where everything is beautiful - especially the brown bears. The only problem here is, most of the time, we have to look at it around Richard Terry's pudgy face. He's supposed to be a cameraman who is making a documentary about weird little Bittner, but Terry spends most of his time with the camera stuck close up on his own face as he talks non-stop about how all this harsh living is affecting HIM. He's blatantly narcissistic in this regard, and seems to think he's a gorgeous specimen, what with his graying rock star long hair and all. He even holds the camera at arm's length in true selfie fashion to film himself "sleeping". When Terry does manage to pry the camera away from his own face he does get some amazing footage of Bittner sitting within arm's length of a fishing bear. Though nobody ever explains why this is a good idea, it's pretty interesting. And if, as Richard Terry believes, you find Richard Terry to be a fascinating and beautiful creature, then this might be the documentary for you. Sadly, I got tired of looking at Richard Terry, who looks like he could be John Belushi's unkempt doppelgänger, and listening to him whine about EVERYTHING!
