Feels more like a soap opera, especially when it comes to hoats' comments, rather than a cooking show. The level of cooking is sub - standard, the cooks move at snail pace and we're supposed to believe that dish took them under 30min to make? It's a painful watch. ...Feels more like a soap opera, especially when it comes to hoats' comments, rather than a cooking show. I learnt so much about Brazilian cuisine. I even took notes. It was an eye opening experience into their food culture. It was fascinating to see their local ingredients and learn about indigenous cultures and their cuisine.
The show is very entertaining. The dishes looked delicious. The main judges were knowledgeable. The contestants are, of course, extremely talented. It was nice to see their camaraderie.
I have two points of criticism. One would be the fairness of the finale- how one chef creating 5 dishes can compete with 5 chefs, each making only one. Two, I thought that they could have guest judges who were more relevant to the show. At least during the finale, if not throughout the season.

I've binge-watched all of them when they were released. I am a big fan of cooking shows and have watched most of them over 3 decades.
The popular Netflix competition setup and at times slightly cringey dramatic shots do not take away from the overall quality and entertainment. I am a Dutch viewer and happen to speak the language but the English translation was quite alright and should be enjoyable even when not speaking the language at all. Both hosts were quite nice and kept me engaged.
All in all a solid 8. Not the best cooking show but definitely a good and interesting one, showcasing Brazilian talent and cuisine! (Brazilian) Portuguese is also a very beautiful language and pleasant to listen to.
