Excellent work for a low budget student film.

Even though it's obvious that half of the actors aren't proper Chinese, They pull it off quite well. The story takes the Kung Fu genre and works it into an almost western and romantic feel. The set up is nice and to the point. The set dressing is very good and feels quite authentic. It is quite amazing what they did on the budget they were working with. Spitler is able to work the actors and the camera with finesse. The graphics for the blood is a little unreal, but it is still quite good and used in a way where it doesn't distract from the plot or the action. The film made me wish there was more. It feels like it could be a short scene from a longer film, but it still wraps up the story quite nicely. It is a fun little film and worth the watch. I can't wait to see more from this director in the future.
