Soundtrack #1 is a straightforward friends-to-lovers story revolving around artistry & the trials of life. The aesthetics are great & the friendship between the leads is believable & worth investing in before moving onto their romance. While this does include unrequited love, it doesn't feel forced & it feels like a natural progression of the feelings built in the relationship between the leads. It also stars Park Hyungsik, one of my favorite romantic drama heroes. Han Sohee & Hyungsik do a great job providing balance to each other on screen. I recommend this to someone who wants a really simple, sensible story with some amount of relationship drama with a sprinkle of comedy that shows the growth between two people who actually don't mess up their friendship in the process of becoming romantically involved.
Han Seon Woo played by Park Hyung-sik is a successful photographer who has been in love for a long time with a friend of nearly twenty years (actually nineteen) but has never told her for fear of losing their friendship. Lee Eunsu played by Han So-hee is the friend who is a successful lyric writer and is oblivious to his feelings but is not aware of how important he is in her life. It is only four episodes and has a small supporting cast but the story is well told and all the actors do a great job particularly the leads. It is an enjoyable watch with a delightful soundtrack so I would recommend if you want a light romantic drama.
This latest K-drama from Han So Hee has a mediocre but well-written story. The decision to only present 4 episodes is a good thing with material that is not verbose and straight to the point. Unfortunately, because it's short, I don't get the romantic moments that should be more between Han So Hee and Park Hyung Sik.
I actually paid for a Disney+ subscription just to watch this series. Little did I know that it was going to be such a short series. I expected much more romance/intimacy from these two beautiful actors. "Nevertheless", I don't regret my subscription. I watch all of Park Hyung-sik's work and have seen his transformation from "High Society", to "Happiness" and is a delight to watch every time. Soundtrack #1 had great music and beautiful imagery. It is lighthearted and good clean love. Now I realize why Disney was the right streaming service for it. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed and you can watch it's entirety in one sitting.
I cant even remember if I have done a imdb review before but I definetly feel that this needs one. I have watched 20+ k-dramas over the course of 2.5 years and this title is fighting for the top spot.
As mention in other reviews the scenery and acting really is amazing. I really feel like this series was ment to be a movie but they extended it to give it more room to grow and it really did!
The story turns out to be quite generic but wow, I was still constantly on my toes and I really felt a connection to the happenings in the series, in a way that is so hard to put forward.
One thing in detail that stod out to me is that when things get little bit sour and I get little bit mad/sad, it quickly turns back and gives me the actions of the characters that I would like to see. The actions to make me happy again and proud to see that there are some writers/directors out there that seams to share my feelings.
The only reason this isnt getting 10 stars is because I would have liked to change the ending. The ending need to have more of a klimax, one that gives us dramatically exactly what we were waiting for in an unexpected way.
