    Episode 2

Episode 2 felt like 80 days!

It starts off neatly enough. Episode 1 finished in India, as local villagers tried to burn alive a human sacrifice. Passepartout rescues the woman who turns out to be a princess and Fogg feels duty bound to protect her so takes her to Calcutta and then off to Burma.

In Burma they get kidnapped by bandits but the Princess Aouda helps them to be released by pleading with the local prince.

On to Honk Kong and Passepartout gets lost but Wilbur Fix joins Fogg as he has always been on their tail even if he always just misses them. Fix actually gets to like Fogg as they make their way to Japan on a ship.

Well the guest appearances liven things up a bit. John Hillerman was wonderful. Amazing to think a Texan cornered the market in playing an Englishman. Robert Wagner and Jill St John were fun for their brief appearance.

However I found Eric Idle to be incomprehensible at times, some of the foreign characters were just lazy stereotypes. The pace was leaden and India and Burma based scenes looked rather unauthentic. It looked like Thailand, which is where the Indian set scenes were filmed.

    • Goofs
When travelling on the Tankadere - a sailing ship - the flag at the back of the ship is shown fluttering to the rear, but if the ship is being powered by the wind then the flag should be blown forwards, as the ship cannot possibly be sailing faster than the wind can blow.
